I know I cry easily in front of the tv but Cold Case is helping me break some kind of record, really. Feels like I'm in tears at the end of every single episode *wipes tears*

I'm still mourning the lack of Cold Case DVDs, btw, and will always do. It's also incredibly ironic that one of the things that makes this show so good, meaning the soundtrack, happens to be the same thing that prevents it from being released on DVDs. Life, it's funny sometimes.

Anyway. I had such a quiet and lazy weekend! After going out every day of the week after work last week, I wanted some Me time and I certainly got my wish. Awesome :-) I did run some errands but it was quickly done. I also took the time to finally do all the cleaning and vacuuming Teh Flat desperately needed. Plus some laundry and ironing.

The excitement of my life, I can barely stand it sometimes, dude!

Know what? It always amuses me that Once Upon a Time, I started using 'dude' in reference to Hurley in Lost - I thought it was an amusing and cute word and I just started using it. At the time it was 100% associated with Hurley. Now it's all about Dean and Dean only. Funny thing.

And speaking of SPN; La Trilogie du Samedi now? Numb3rs followed with Supernatural. You'd think I bribed the network or something :-) Summer hiatus might be on in the States but between N3, SPN, Lost and Cold Case every Saturday and Sunday, I do have some nice tv over here too. Sure, it's in French but I'm part of the minority that can watch dubbed shows without wanting to commit suicide. Most of the time, that is ;-)

I KNEW I wasn't the only one! There was one episode in particular that I can't even think about without bursting out in tears. It's a first season one (I think) where they find a car from back in the 20s and there's a body in there. Turns out it was a black woman and she'd fallen in love with a white woman and they had planned on running away to NY together, but then when they were trapped, they decided to drive off of the bridge and die together. The white woman lived (or should I say, didn't die because she was still heartbroken) and the black woman died.

I watch that and I think about my ex-girlfriend from back in the day and I miss her like crazy and it just makes me sob.

But I still love this show and I'll watch it whenever it comes on! LOL! What kind of masochist am I?

From the comments I got in this entry, it'd seem Cold Case makes everyone cry lol So not surprised, this show is so incredibly emotional. And never in an OTT way, it's more subtle and I guess that's why it's so efficient.

I think I completely missed the episode you mentioned but just reading your summary makes me think I'd cried with you!

I love Cold Case soooo much. I especially love how they work in the time specific music, which is of course the reason they'll never release it on DVD, the clearances would cost too much. I've watched some shows on DVD (Roswell, Dawson's Creek) where they changed the music so they wouldn't have to pay, and it makes such a difference, not in a good way at all.

The soundtrack is such an important part of that show! Too bad it's what prevents us from having the DVDs. It's such a sad state of affair, I would so buy every single season!

Did you ever watch the show Wiseguy, with Ken Wahl as an undercover FBI agent? IN the finale of the first arc of season 1, they play the Moddy Blues song NIghts in White Satin, to absolutely amazing effect. I love that show so much, but I absolutely refuse to buy the DVD, because they've removed the song, and without it, the scene doesn't have nearly the same power. Such a stupid thing to do.

I watched that show when I was a kid, yeah.

Music plays such a big part in an episode/scene. Changing it has to change the mood somehow.

I know that on the DVD of Criminal Minds, they changed the music in a scene at the very beginning of the pilot and a) I was quite disappointed because I happened to really love that song and b) it changed the atmosphere a bit and it just didn't feel the same.

There was a season 2 ep of Roswell called Cry Your Name, in which Beth Orton and her song "Cry Your Name" played a large part. When they released it on DVD, they took the song out of the episode. How in the hell does that make sense?

The show I always cry at is Grey's Anatomy *sheepish* I don't know what it is, but sometimes about that show always GETS me!

I'm a big fan of Cold Case too. I love the thematic storytelling, they've always got a fantastic script and music, plus! Scotty Valens is really nice to look at ;)

But I've never noticed there are no DVDs! (Since I dl all my eps, anyway) What's the reason preventing them from being released?

The soundrack. Or more like the copyrights. If they released the show on DVD it would cost them way too much because of it. Which, so sad omg!

I guess one of these days I'll just have to go and download all the seasons, is all.

Oddly enough, I always watch that show when it airs in France, never 'live'...

Pas de problème pour dimanche c'est parfait pour l'heure sachant que je travaille de 10 à 11h, ça me permet de glander un peu^^

Alors le Starbucks de St Lazare c'est le plus grand, il se trouve sur le trotoire face à la "bulle". Tu te souviens une fois on avait dis aurevoir à Sam près de la gare de St Lazare. Tu peux pas le louper il est sur deux étage le Starbucks tellement il est grand lol

Ouais j'ai enfin fini N3, c'était génial.

Everyone cries in front of Cold Case!! Especially me, which is why I stopped watching. It's just too "glauque" (in French)

Cold Case is another one of those shows that people keep telling me to watch and I just don't. You'd think I'd learn my lesson *g*

People are so right, dude! You should watch that show. Lily is one of my most favourite characters and I adore Scotty. Same thing with the rest of the cast, they're really all fantastic, all in their own way.

And the storylines. Oh so gorgeous and heartbreaking all the time! If you do watch it, brace yourself because you'll end up in tears more often that not! But it's worth it, imho :-)
