The Old Guard
I'm this close to add "this. this is the post" and leave it at that because this entry has basically no other content than this. The Old Guard. As in, I watched it. I enjoyed it a whole lot. I now want all of you to go and watch it too so we can have fun talking about it. ( I mean, look at me, doing an lj-cut to hide spoilers like it's 2004! )
We are not talking about the movie of the year as such but The Old Guard is highly entertaining, the characters are likable and interesting, the ladies badass, there is a sort of intimist and languid feel to it amidst all the action, the fight scenes are fantastic and the whole 'verse has so much potential. Also, what's behind the cut ;)
Anyway! I'd love to stay and chat some more but er, I have a new AO3 tab opened and fics that are calling my name so... toodles!
PS: and I just found out it's actually based on a comic which, yes, makes so much sense! I'm hopeful for a sequel now. Or a prequel. Something!
