I forgot to wish quite a bunch of birthdays in the past week but this time I won't! So let me wish a Happy Birthday to

Now. Confession time. I, Mousey Mouse of the Slash Clan, read a Vala/Daniel fic and loved it. There, I said it. And listen, it's not my fault! Those two are special - they make me want to read fics about them. Jack will understand, I'm sure *cough* Speaking of him having to watch over Daniel a lot since the new season started, I also read a fic where Cameron fucked Daniel on his desk and know what? It worked too. And in that case, Jack did understand, which was the whole point of the fic, mind - just read the thing, you'll see why.

tallisen did a good job with the whole story, really *glassy eyes* I'm still a die hard J/D lover, I don't see how that will ever change, but diversity is the spice of life and everything.

Speaking of SG S9, where are the icons? I didn't find a lot of them, so where are they? Cause I'm still making ready for the 100 icons and I need to store them and right now? I can't say I'm drowning in a sea of S9 icons.

But! I did find some awesome icons of another persuasion, namely TS ones. I might have snagged one or two - or, like, all of them. Hey, they're gorgeous, you can't fault me for being greedy, can you?

Oh and because I'm the self-appointed Kaamelott #1 fan, here a little reference to my funny and whacky show: so I'm actually quite the happy camper because I'm discovering some episodes I've never seen before and in one of those I had this moment of complete disbelief when Arthur suddenly made a pep talk and wow it was all serious and smart and noble, and seriously it had me fall off my chair from shock because Arthur! Being all noble and serious! And for, like, ten seconds the guys sitting at the Round Table were all noble themselves and motivated and shit and then... they were back to normal and reverted to their usual bickering and being rude and silly and boy did it make me laugh. And yes, that is all, thanks for your attention *loves Kaamelott*

Also wish me luck. After maybe three weeks of saying we'll go and see Batman Begins, Henry and I chose today for yet another try *fingers crossed*

They're not new-new episodes - I think they're starting from the beginning again, but yeah they might be new - like they were for me - if you missed the beginning of the series *g*

No, actually, probably not. I did go to one of the other Half Price Books in town, but they didn't have an edition that I didn't have, so I passed on getting a sixth copy of the trilogy. :)

Batman Begins is definitely worth seeing, so keep trying!

I'm not giving up. And no, we didn't get to see it today either *sigh* But tomorrow should take care of it. Anyway, I'm holding The Fantastic Four hostage. We won't see the movie until Batman Begins had been watched first and fangirled. Sometimes, you just need to set your priorities, you know? lol

People seem to have such a negative reaction to the new show that is sg-1 that I'm wondering, actually *pout*

not everyone thinks like me! some people do like season 9, some even want vala to replace sam (not sure if that's your thought too) and i don't blame them or anything.

the fandom is divided. the people who accept it's a new show, and those who don't.

oh well.

Actually, on my flist, I think I saw more positive comments than negative ones. The place where I practically only saw negative comments - not that I read them, mind, I delete so fast that my head is spinning on that ML - is at AG. Which isn't that surprising, mind.

eee maybe you shouldn't read MY entries. i can still manage to like the episodes but i'll never ever like season 9 :( i don't blame TPTB or anything, it's not their fault but i can't handle the cast change. although i do blame them to death for what they did to sam.

I think it's because the dynamic between Daniel/Vala and Jack/Daniel is rather similar, though not exactly the same, of course, so that's why it appeals to our inner slasher.

Yes, they are. They fill me with all kinds of shippy glee and I've already watched Avalon I & II three times, fast-forwarding to all the Daniel/Vala stuff :P.

Exactly! I do ship in canon - quite often as a matter of fact - and the only reason why I don't ship those two is because I just don't see it. Shippers keep claiming that slashers are so very biased and that's the only reason why they dislike the whole J/S pseudo-love story - that they're blinded by the J/D thing but it always makes me smile because no, sorry, that's not it. Oh I won't deny that for some slashers, that might be the reason but honestly, I have the feeling it's not the reason for most of them. At all.

The only reason why I don't believe in J/S is because it looks ridiculous to me - embarrassing even for Sam. I don't see any kind of interest on Jack's part and only forced pseudo-attraction from Sam. This is the only reason why I just laugh at the J/S TPTB wants to feed their viewers *shrug*

I do accept J/S if it's on the same level as J/D, ie subtextual *eg*

Ayep, me too. I'm a shipper and a slasher -- it just depends on where I see the chemistry and which characters appeal to me. And I like Jack and Sam just fine as characters, and they have a nice, realistic friendshippy chemistry going; I just really don't buy into a Great and T00by Romance between them.

But, uh, I'm not the world's greatest J/D shipper (*cowers* don't hurt me!), but I don't care for the J/S. Like, at all, and especially when it ruins other things I do enjoy, namely the team dynamic and the established friendship between Jack and Daniel.
