Plutôt mourir que d'mourir !
The 'Supernatural' Panel at the Paley TV Fest is LOVE! [Beware of potential spoilers for future episodes, though. Don't click if you don't want to know anything] Dude, it's the first time I'm curious about the actors as much as I am about the characters. Usually, I'm all about the latter... the actors are fine and all but I don't go around and compulsively download interviews or hunt for pics, you know? But I feel the j² love so much!
Also, is Jensen Ackles really calm and all? I mean, in the interviews I saw with him, he always speaks quietly and though he's funny and stuff, there's a sort of languid quality to him... whereas in all the interviews I saw with Jared Padalecki, the guy is always talking fast and is always telling stories and, well, I'm wondering if that's how the guys usually are or if I just watched interviews with a calmer Jensen, is all *is curious* Not that I would mind if Jensen was the quiet one in their duo, btw, quite the opposite ;-)
Unrelated, I downloaded and watched the pilot of Life on Mars last night and now I know what the fuss was about. I'm thinking of
Tai in particular here *g* It was great! I would love to download the whole series now because it rocks. There's always something special with Brit series; it's less sanitised than American ones, it usually looks more 'real' - I just love them to pieces. So anyway, thumbs up for Sam, Gene, Annie and Co...
Oh and
rhianne? I've received the DVDs, thank you! I couldn't resist and started with "Ripple Effect" and ohh goodie! So many Daniels and Camerons! And okay, is there anything hotter than SG-1 in their black BDUs? Well, 'in leather' would be a good answer but I mean... black!Daniel was just too hot! As were the others. Oh and the scenes with all the Carters were awesome too ;-)
Then omg! Janet! I'd forgotten she was going to be there - that was grand, too. I really miss Janet. I mean, I don't miss Jack - I'll always rejoice at Cameron's addition - but I certainly miss Janet.
Then I watched "Ethon" and wow, I loved the episode. It was what I call Old Skool Stargate and, well, I thought it was brilliant. I was completely hooked from start to finish... I was also really sad when we lost the Prometheus, I loved that starship. And I was sadder to lose Pendergast - there was something special about him. Then you try to seek comfort in the knowledge that it was for a good cause, that he didn't die - him and part of his crew - for nothing and then Daniel shatters the illusion and, man, back to feeling sad and disappointed. I loved that they did this, btw - it felt real. It's, like, yeah, happy endings aren't mandatory, you know?. In case it wasn't clear? I'm still enjoying season nine :-)
Also one of Cameron's lines in "Ripple Effect" reminded me of an episode of Les Aventuriers du Survivaure and made me want to listen to it all over, which I'm doing right this minute, and I can't resist;
Sabrovitch : Je pourrais me mettre nue pour faire diversion...
*gasps with laughter* Sorry, it makes me laugh each and every single time!

Tell me about it! I look at Alec and Dean, and then I see Jensen and I'm, like, who would have thought? And I just love that sweet, quiet persona of his - from what we've seen, I mean.
It's funny cause those are usually two of my favourite traits in a character... and here, I find them in Jensen the actor/person as opposed to Dean the character; that just strikes me as funny *g*
Except that sadly, lots of it has Jensen talking and behaving WAY too much like Dean. :( Of course I love Dean, but that's not the Jensen I've seen in any of the interviews or fan accounts, you know?
Dude, were we separated at birth or something? Though seeing our age difference, we would be quite the phenomenon, but whatever lol
Cause yes, that's something I regret, how writers often write Jensen as Dean; after seeing all those interviews, they look so different. Actually, there's this interview where Jensen talks about Dean and there's no doubt about that; he says it himself, how Dean is so very different from him because he's cocky and sure of himself and stuff. Most adorable thing ever!
Actually, know what? I think this is why I'm so in love with the virgin!Jensen fics, because they deal with a more reserved Jensen, which actually might lean toward the view we have of him in all those interviews *nods*

Me as well! I'm still surprised sometimes at how much I love Dean, and that it was Dean I was drawn to so strongly from the beginning. Usually I go for characters more like Sam. But I think with Dean, it's a case of the character having the qualities that always appeal to me -- (intelligence, compassion, vulnerability, hidden depths), but they're beneath the surface and rarely glimpsed.
Dude, were we separated at birth or something?
We do seem to have really similar views on lots of fandom stuff. XD

I don't think Jensen is a delicate flower or anything, naturally, but I don't imagine him being cocky and swaggering and dropping the f-bomb left and right. And I like to imagine that he still has some of that Southern Boy charm and good manners. That's how his quiet, laid back attitude comes across to me.
