I'm torn as well! I adore Alan, but his response did seem to be OOC, especially given his previous overprotective attitude towards Charlie (aka Sniper Zero). It's almost like they had him do a 180 to make this point. And I keep picturing little tiny Charlie, younger and smaller than anyone else in his class, getting pushed down, and Alan just watching. Nope, doesn't fly.
