You don't see much of the burgeoning darkness until season 2, but you definitely see a bit in the first season or hints of what's to come. Fave ep is Crackers Don't Matter, which is in S2 and shows a wildly demented, yet somehow still sane Crichton. Loved S2 and S4, haven't seen S1 in a long time but I must have loved it because it got me hooked on the show. Can't remember much of S3, but yeah, you'll like it. :)
