Since I was out most of yesterday, came back around 1.00 am and didn't feel awake enough to post an entry, let me wish a belated relaxing Labour Day to some of you, a happy Beltane to some others, and an exciting Masturbation Month to all. Yeah, that's May for you *eg* Well, I didn't make that up, I just pass the information ya know? lol
Also, as is the tradition on May, 1st (well, here at least *g*), here some lilies of the valley- it'll bring you luck :

So, since I was busy having a life yesterday, I couldn't watch nor Evolution, nor the pilot of Mutant X before today. I survived apparently- and I finally watched both this morning *pets VCR for the good job it did*
Evolution was really good. I was so not disappointed. You know how it is, sometimes you've been waiting so long for something, heard so much about it, and when you finally get to see it... well, nothing really happens. It wasn't the case for Evolution and me *g* The only thing that kept annoying me was when we had to jump from Daniel's storyline to Sam's one. Okay, so that's not the ideal description, but you know what I mean. I love Sam, and Teal'c and Jacob blah blah blah, but each time we left Daniel, I couldn't help thinking Bring me back to Honduras RIGHT NOW. Not nice for the team, but man, they were breaking the rhythm, I swear! Okay so they were breaking *my* rhythm, but damn... DannyWhumping is sacred, Jack coming to the rescue is beautiful, and I didn't want to leave *pout*
What I loved was how Daniel definitely seemed shocky and beaten up. He sure wasn't giving in to his captors, he was trying to reason with them no matter what, and was resisting them the only way he could, by using his words or his silence --the poor guys thought they'd captured wimpy little geeks- as if!-- and after all *Daniel* was the one who found a way to escape with Lee, bringing the others' attention to him when Lee couldn't go on anymore afterward in the jungle, but during the scenes with Raphael he wasn't the super-hero-who-doesn't-care-he's-being-tortured-and-who's-too-dumb-to-even-feel-the-slightest-bit-afraid. I don't want to see some un-feeling rocks, thank you very much, so I loved how Daniel reacted *hugs and pets the spacemonkey*
I won't comment on Jack's coming the rescue, because that was such a wonderful part of the episode! lol I'd seen a lot of caps from after the rescue, but seeing the two of them in the flesh so to speak was so much better *g* Melikey.
To make a long story short, I enjoyed myself tremendously. Evolution definitely kicked ass, as they say *g*
Mutant X, now. And I suppose this next passage will be directed to
turps33 in priority... oh and
ninjetti75 as well, if I remember correctly *g*
So, MX... twas nice... cheesy but in a cute kinda way lol I think I'm going to like the show despite all its flaws. Sometimes, I really don't mind *shrug*
Something that really made me smile... the fight scenes? Well, let's just say that the Sparkly boys aren't the only ones who like to.... twirl lol But what the hell, why not, right? And if it brings me some Shalimar in action scenes, I won't complain. Yeah, sis, as weird as it sounds, as this morning, I turned into a Shal fan. Don't know when it happened either. I love Emma- and I loved her from the start, but somehow, to see the pilot made me love Shalimar so much more. And an alpha female in action? Such a turn on! lol Plus I think I really love the dynamic between her and Jesse. It's so cute to see her so protective of him. Can't get enough of that one *g* Jesse is still my favourite over Brennan though. But then, I like sweet guys, plus he's a geek so what's not to love, right? Besides, Brennan is
turps33's property, anyway.
And the show is slashy- from the start too. Both femmeslash and male slash as a matter of fact. I might turn into a Shal/Emma OTP gal now that I think of it. Right next to Brennan/Jess that is *g* I mean hello, the 'ceremony' at the end is *exactly* like a wedding scene, they actually exchange rings... and instead of having Shalimar giving the ring to Brennan and Jesse to Emma, they did a f/f and m/m exchange. Subtext much? lol
Which brings me the thought I kept having while I was watching the episodes- I know the webmistress of the Slash Mutant X Archive- what an honour *preens*
Anyway... this morning was nicely slashy *beams* Of course, SG was the highlight of the marathon *hugs favourite show* Oh and I missed The Shield btw. I couldn't tape both The Shield and Mutant X but I'll catch a rerun, C+ always shows its programs several times.
So there, now let's hit the flist to see what you've been up to *g*

I really enjoyed MX. And you tell me it's being cancelled (I'm doing a mix with your mail, I'll reply to it in detail later of course)? Typical since I was just getting into it.
Man, you must feel so upset- everyone who knows you know how involved you were in it, not just the show but the fandom too. Not that killing the show will kill the fandom but well... As Blair would say Life really sucks.
And the slash? So there! I mean, the ceremony even seems to secretly acknowledge it, ya know? I can't believe they didn't know it. I'm pretty sure some slashers-in-hiding were part of the cast and made the scene happen- I don't see any other explanation lol
And Shal is so cool *sigh* Does she get protective of Jesse often? I mean, it's a recurring theme, right? Please tell me it is so *g*

She's totally protective of Jesse. With her being a feral she's very protective of 'her' family anyway, and she sees Jesse as a little brother. It's nice to see actually, I mean he doesn't need protecting, but she does it anyway.
