i'm sorry but i really disagree with this comment.
Et puis tout le monde veut tout savoir en détail, pourquoi ils ont osés parler 5 minutes à un journaliste avant de faire un post sur LJ. Pourquoi aujourd'hui, pourquoi leur nouvelle policy, et blablabla... because it's called customer service and they owe it to us paid members? i only got annoyed at LJ BECAUSE they didn't tell us what was going on. i don't know how it's like where you live, but if i had handled a customer complaint like that at work, i would have been fired on the spot. you do not handle customer complaints by issuing statements to the press or not telling them what is going on. and it's not only avant de faire un post sur LJ, c'est presque *24 heures* apres qu'ils ont post sur LJ.
e vois pas du tout, mais alors pas du tout, le rapport entre le slash (et le porn) et les mots "child abuse, rape, etc..." neither do we! that was the whole point of all this, wasn't it? they deleted fandom communities (as far as i know, most of them were hp slash communities) and fandom roleplaying journals simply because they listed "incest" as interest. so, in other words, they did not make any distinction between child abuse, rape and slash. which understandably enough, led to fandom revolt.
LJ Abuse a répondu par email (et les emails ont été publiés un peu partout) qu'ils visaient la promotion d'activités illégales dans les profils et intérêts. errr, those emails were sent to the owners of *fandom communities* (mostly hp slash) telling them that their communities had been suspended for doing EXACTLY THAT and would remain PERMANENTLY suspended. (of course, the latest news posts says otherwise, but it took them over 24 hours to change their decision.).
the omg they are going after slash rumours started after someone pointed out that Warriors for Innocence are homophobic (with proof) and therefore specifically targeted those communities. yes, it got out of hand because that's pushing it a bit for me too. and i do truly believe that the reason it got this bad ( i've had to endure pirates song and ugly macros all day!) is because of the lack of an official statement from LJ. had they done something to control the damage 24 hours ago, it would never have gotten this bad.
i'm not trying to change your opinion or anything, but i just felt the need to give my point of view. that said, fandom does tend to be obsessive and irrational at times so i guess there was a lot of overreacting as well.
no subject
