(no subject)

Yesterday was a good day: because a) I slept in and stayed home all day and b) I wrote a fic!

\o/

Well, to be precise I started the fic, it's not finished yet, but it makes me giddy all the same because it's a Night fic and I'm already 3.660 words into it and since it's a Five Things type of fic and I only wrote two of those five things so far and since I'm hoping to have all parts more or less equal in length, it means I'm aiming at a 9100+ word story and this would be a great start for 2008 *nods*

It's the second Five Things fic I write and I really like that kind of theme, I have to say. The difference being that my SPN fic was five different little stories in one and this TS one is one story told in five parts...

Anyway!

Oh a meme. I couldn't sleep last night - it sometimes happens when I write a new fic, even when I'm done with it for the day I still have the story in my head and it feels weird just going to sleep right after it. One of those things, I guess - and so decided to do a little meme just to pass the time.

Only it took me ages to do it because I sorta got engrossed in the whole thing and, now, there's just no way I wouldn't share it on my LJ. Took me to long to just throw it away *nods*

Back in the Day: 5 TV Shows You Loved As A Kid

I'm talking circa primary school!kid, here. Also, this was really hard because I really loved a lot of shows when I was a kid. I know, shocking.

1. Star Trek: tos
2. Time Tunnel
3. The Big Valley
4. Airwolf
5. Tour of Duty

Who Would You Do?: 5 TV Characters You Would...Well, It's Self-Explanatory

What? No, No, I Don't Watch That...: 5 Guilty Pleasure TV Shows

1. Charmed
2. Moonlight
3. Plus Belle la Vie - I'm not sure I should put it here because I don't follow it per se, but I do watch it every now and then. And know the characters' names.
4. Little House on the Prairie - people usually laugh at the idea of my watching it, so I guess it's good enough for that list
5. Dude, I know there are more shows than those, but I'm drawing a blank for the 5th.

Wow: 5 TV Moments You Still Remember (And Probably Won't Forget)

1. Quantum Leap: "Mirror Image" The 'Doctor Samuel Becket never returned home' thing. I still haven't recovered from that one. And I was in middle school when I watched the episode!
2. Buffy: "Body" Joyce's death.
3. Supernatural: "Devil's Trap" The confrontation at the cabin between Dean and possessed!John
4. The X Files: "Closure": I'm hesitating between two scenes... the moment when they discover the mass gravesite was really poignant and sad scene. But let's say I'll go with the ending of the episode, from the moment the little boy takes Mulder's hand to the moment he hugs Samantha. And the music they chose? Did me in. I've heard that music now and then on the radio or stuff and I always remember that scene.
5. That scene in Little House on the Prairie when Mary realises she can't see anymore. She's in their room upstairs and you don't see her just hear scream and I don't know about the English version but the French dubber's scream gives me goosebump each time I watch that episode again.

"Tossed Salads and Scrambled Eggs": 5 TV Theme Songs You Know (and Love) By Heart

Most of them are music as opposed to songs so...

Eh: 5 Shows You Just Can't Get Into

1. NCIS - hateithatehateit
2. Smallville
3. Stargate: Atlantis
4. The Unit - hateithateithateit
5. The West Wing - I know this is a brilliant show... but it's not doing anything for me

The Starting Line-Up: 5 Channels You Go To First When You Sit Down to Watch TV

If there was any doubt, this would be the ultimate proof that this isn't a French meme lol Dude. Even with the TNT, meaning even with more than the five regular channels we have here, I'm not sure I can really answer that question... but let's say that the channel I Go To First When I Sit Down to Watch TV is M6. W9 is nice as well but the two are basically the same - M6, W9, get it?

This Is An Environment of Welcoming, and You Should Just Get the Hell Out Of Here: 5 TV Characters You Could Do Without

1. Martouf (Stargate SG1)
2. Owen (Torchwood)
3. Mama Donnelly (The Black Donnellys. Though she did bring some nice angst to the boys so she had some use)
4. West (Heroes)
5. There has to be more but, again, nothing...

That's What She Said: 5 Quotes That Still Resonate

1. Sam (QL - "Mirror Image"): "Mais au lieu de commencer l'histoire par 'Il était une fois', je vais commencer par la fin heureuse : Al est vivant" - I've only ever seen that episode in French so it resonates in French for me. That's from "Mirror Image" when Sam appears to Beth at the end of the episode. I guess the English version goes something like "'instead of starting with 'once upon a time' I'll start with the happy ending. Al is alive."

Sam's little speech at the beginning of each episode of Quantum Leap. I still know it by heart; it always amuses me :-)

3. Dean (SPN - "Shadow"): "You and me and Dad. I want us to be together again. I want us to be a family again."

4. Methos (HL - "Revelation 6:8"): "J'ai tué Silas! J'aimais Silas!" - one of my favourite HL episode and Methos broke my heart in that scene. IIRC he says "I liked Silas" as opposed to "I loved Silas" in the original version so it's not as strong in English as it is in French, which is why the French quote had more of an impact on me.

5. Buffy (Btv - "After Life"): "And I was warm, and I was loved, and I was finished. Complete. I don't understand about theology or dimensions, or any of it, really, but I think I was in heaven. And now I'm not. I was torn out of there."

Gimme More: 5 Shows You Can Never Get Enough Of

1. Supernatural
2. Kaamelott
3. Numb3rs
4. Pushing Daisies
5. All these talks about QL reminded me how much I love that show so I'll add that one too, even if it's been a long time since I could watch it. I'll have to check how many seasons have been released on DVDs here.

Okay, now that it's out of the way *checks time* Methinks I should go and try to start doing some packing for this weekend, start on the vaccuming I wanted to do before leaving, that sort of thing...
