I had a... let's say 'interesting' couple of hours. My back started to act up - last time it happened was in November, I think. Not that I was delusioned enough to believe it was over for good, but I did enjoy the reprieve, believe me. I immediately took some pills, except my body apparently decided it wasn't going to cooperate and the world started spinning like mad and I couldn't walk straight and, wow, it wasn't cool at all. I'm feeling better now, though. That is, my back is still hurting but I've immobilised myself on my couch and I'm watching Buffy and cruising LJ so it could be worse :-)

Later, I think I'll start A Density of Souls by Christopher Rice; one of the two novels I got from [livejournal.com profile] lancebelle for the Book Exchange. She also got me The Kite Runner, which I meant to buy for ages but never got round to it. I guess I knew that someone else would get it for me?

Anyway, I'm just going to have a quiet day. And not move too much. And take very shallow breaths. Yes, that's the plan *nods*

Oh and I watched New Amsterdam 1x05; I really liked the flashbacks. First because I was curious about John's alcoholic past - it was obvious it had left a mark on him - and second because I love every single detail we get about the life Omar and John led pre-series and the glimpses we caught here were great. I always wondered when and how John had told Omar about him... and I loved the way it happened. It was also interesting to see them at odds like that... I like that it wasn't always easy between them...

Speaking of complicated things. It was nice to have Sara get upset about John's revelation. Things between them were too easy, imho, so that new development was of the good.

It sucks that there're only two episodes left; because I would have enjoyed getting more of that show.

Oh and this had nothing to do with anything but I was friendfriend surfing and saw this. I immediately thought of all the cat lovers on my flist - seems there're many of you - and wanted to share. In case you've never seen it.

It almost made me want to go and adopt a cat!

PS: Nice, today's HL episode is "Methuselah's Gift"! Methos!

Ouch, I hope the state of your back improves. :/ I assume you've had a professional opinion about it, and are taking only recommended pills, right? ;)

If you ever revisit the idea of adopting a cat, make sure you consider what they're like in the 80% of the time when they're *not* being cute and clever movie stars. I could share a lot of stories, the most recent being when my lovely, extremely clever kitten had decided to chase imaginary mice all over my blanket (which had me under it). At 5am.

Or the CD stand he's overthrown. Or the paper he's shredded to tiny little bits of paperflakes all over the living-room. Or the yowling when the three types of food offered are still not enough. :D

You assume well, my friend :-) Which is why I was really surprised at the reaction I got. I don't remember ever having that kind of reaction before.

I have to say I'm not really a cat person. I mean, I adore kittens and think they're the cutest thing ever but once they become a cat I kinda lose interest. Whereas I think puppies are the cutest thing too but do love dogs even when they're adult. Mind you, that might because of my own dog. I mean, she's the family dog, but you know what I mean.

So I'm not sure I'll ever revisit the idea of adopting a cat - though, again, one never knows - but I'll definitely keep you what said you in mind.

Also, poor you *pets you*

Heeh, I'm not really complaining, since I wouldn't have cats if I didn't like the cat personality. *g* But Lisi was definitely another class of cat, an aristocat, while Zorro is a bit of a pig. I'm still struggling to adapt, but I love the little guy. :D

Lol I can see why that would make for an interesting contrast. One you'd have to get used to *g*
