Ash Wednesday today, first day of Lent. I "celebrated" by watching
nicelyobsessed taste one of the new cakes at Starbucks and
crazybutsound savour her venti white mocha. My life, so tough ;-) Speaking of Starbucks, their new logo has arrived! It'll take some time to get used to it but in some time, it'll be as if we always had it, right? That's how it works, usually. I tried to explain to my co-coworkers what a big deal the change was but - surprisingly! - none of them got it! Good thing I had Cookie to discuss it with, plus a couple of people on Twitter or Facebook.
After our little meeting, Cookie and I got home and I just couldn't wait to watch the new White Collar. Which I loved! I totally hadn't seen that ending coming! I honestly think it'd have hurt less if Peter or Neal had been shot. Not that I thought the writers would go that route again but it would have hurt less to have either one of them physically hurt than to see Peter's trust in Neal shaken like that.
That scene was so awesome! And so unexpected! I just couldn't believe how quickly Peter could turn against Neal like that, it completely took me by surprise. It also showed that as much as Peter trusted (or wanted to trust) Neal, his fear that Neal would one day just con the lot of them was still very real. Which sounds realistic, I guess, but I got so used to Peter always trusting Neal, having so much faith that Neal could leave his criminal life behind, that it shook me too to have him change his mind so quickly.
And Neal's reaction to it was also a thing of beauty. His look when he realised the conclusion Peter had come to; from shocked to pleading to just furious, his "Then prove it, prove it" absolutely rocked. The whole scene was fantastic ♥
It most definitely broke my heart, too. The trust Peter has in Neal was such a beautiful thing to witness throughout the whole show, to see him not just doubt Neal but downright accuse him of being a liar like that, a conman not to be trusted at all... it was fucking awesome in the most delicious twisted way. What the hell happened omg? How did things get so completely screwed so quickly?!
And then that last shot of Neal smiling... He's not going to tell Peter anything now, is he? After being accused like that... guess it would actually be just exactly what Peter needs to put him behind bars, no question asked. So if Neal really never lied to Peter up until that point, then he's going to spend his time doing it now. Oh boys, you're in such a mess! What is going to happen between you two in season 3? Where is their relationship heading ?
Who the fuck did all of this for Neal? I want to say his father because I'm so curious about it all but, really, I have no idea who could be behind this. But if it could be Neal's dad and if the man could be part of the next storyline, it would make me the happiest of fangirls :-)
So many questions again. Including, are Neal and Peter going to break up?? And what is it with Neal and older men? They all want him, don't they? Not that we don't understand where they're coming from :-p Adler can fool himself by believing he saw in Neal a 'son' but we know that he just wanted to fuck him. Or better yet, he just wanted to fuck him again ; of course he missed his boy, who wouldn't? But Neal belongs (quite literally here) to Peter, so of course Adler didn't stand a chance. Except now Neal and Peter's relationship is going through a very rough patch so who knows what's going to happen? Who's going to take care of Neal now?!
So stressful, dude.
Oh, show, how I'm going to miss you! Summer can't come quickly enough *teary eyes*
