Je suis croque !

Before you scold me, [livejournal.com profile] admiralandrea, I have been selecting pics from the wedding to post around here and I actually meant to post them tonight but episode 3 of Class happened and I felt compelled to come here and pretend this is 2008 and LJ is filled with squee over the latest episodes of the newest shows ;)

I was so enamoured with the episode that I actually posted somethings over at Tumblr. I don't mean reblog something, I mean make my own post. Come on, ask me about the last time I did that... actually, don't. I have no idea when that was. Maybe a lifetime ago? More or less.

It's almost 2.00AM and we're getting up early tomorrow so I'm not going into details but the cold open made me tear up and hooked me right from the start. And those really were just the first of many feelings. I thought the episode was beautiful in its treatment of grief and love. It was in times creepy, touching, sweet and hot. Actually, sometimes at the same time ;) All in all, it was quite emotional.

This is not an actual review, just a quick bullet list of things I enjoyed:
  • The very beginning of the episode. This was so touching! It made me tear up (I'm easy like that).

  • Tanya broke my heart. She was brilliant through the whole thing. And that ending, when she basically saves herself by poisoning the Lankin was very cool. She's such a clever and resourceful character.

  • Miss Quill's loneliness breaks my heart as well. I absolutely love that character; she's so cynical and blasé, can appear so cold, and yet her loneliness makes her feel so vulnerable. Charlie is like her, he lost everything and everyone (at such a young age, too) but he's getting new friends (and let's not forget about the boyfriend) and gaining a support group in the process whereas Miss Quill is forever shown as the outsider. That look on her face when the "kids" do the bonding thing at the end. Oh, Miss Quill!

  • Charlie's talking about his parents, about love and what the word means on his planet.

  • Charlie being an awesome (and so cute omg) boyfriend to Matteusz.

  • Charlie being in turns awkward, sweet, insecure, assertive. I love Charlie so much!

  • Charlie and Matteusz. Charlie and Matteusz. Omg, those two ♥ ♥

  • April's attitude and the way she's so collected. You are definitely not made of glass, April, and I love you for that.

  • The way Ram listened to her when she was telling her story.

  • That ending with the gang all hugging and cheering on each other. I squeed at Ram and Charlie's sorta fist bump - and I'm pretty sure they hugged too. I'll need to watch the episode again to make sure. Will do tomorrow night when we're home.

So those are the many things I enjoyed with the episode. Also, the size difference between Charlie and Matteusz. Obviously it was already there right from the pilot but their scenes in tonight's episode made me notice even more and that made me happy. Very happy, indeed.

[livejournal.com profile] _profiterole_, je ne sais pas si tu as déjà vu l'épisode mais j'ai hâte de lire ce que tu en auras pensé. En espérant que tu l'auras apprécié autant que moi ;)
