so, so freaking scary! evil portents - the psychic knowingly sending her on the plane - what do you think she's carrying?? the anti-christ or some demon thing or what? with all the immaculate conception/madonna imagery surrounding Claire, I was SO not expecting this! "blurry is bad." yikes!
and Sayid isn't back yet... and Ethan Rom (thank you for "Other Man" - did not know that!)
and oh, yeah, Claire is so dead. and I am so sad, b/c I think I'm in love with her. (just like w/ Jack - I always fall for the Mary Sue *g*) she was just so beautiful and fragile/strong in this episode - I just wanted to kill boyfriend dude... oh,well. the cool thing is, we'll get grieving Charley *g*.
I loved the lovers quarrel, too. he and Jack are my ship, man. it is done, no going back.
you're right, the Hurley-Sawyer scene was fantastic. "you could use the points." and Sawyer just gives the manifest to him! (I foresee redemption for the redneck, and I'm a little disappointed. *g*)
And Locke - oh man! I'm back to thinking he's evil. sitting in judgement on Claire (SITTING. which may be significant. or not. :) His talk with Hurley - freaky. (and I loved Hurley's exit line!)
But Locke=evil I think b/c I finally got G to watch it with me (yay!) and of course, he loved it, and of course, we had to watch another and I picked "The Moth" - and... I was so busy bashing the blatant moth imagery that I completely missed the CHRIST imagery until G pointed it out (my man is so the meta-guy :).
Charley: very religious. called at least twice a rock "god" in the episode. Locke offers the drugs to him 3 times, just like Satan tempted Christ three times in the desert - therefore Locke=Satan. And even the moth stuff fits in - re-birth, rising again. How cool is that??
and yeah, even though Locke is doing things that are good, in all religions there are elements of duality in the divine, including Christianity - God the Father created evil and allows it to exist. Besides, Lucifer was beautiful, after all.
I love this show! They've created so much potential, and so far they aren't wasting it!
sorry for the length - you are a doll to let me come here and squee with you! *g*
way too long Lost co-squee
