I'm warning you - this is Spam Your Flist Day. Also and though it doesn't have anything to do with anything I feel compelled to mention it, I had to wake up at 7.00 this morning and, yeah, I sorta did hate myself, but I also reminded myself that it had been for the good cause and all and I felt better. Not more awake, mind you, but better all the same.
And speaking of the good cause *g*
Caps of The Last Scene - batch #2 [11 caps] aka Checkmate
So the last time, we left the Eppes Men in various states of mind. One Charlie was all crushed and insecure because he'd just realised anomaly spelled with an 'a' and really, that was tough enough - and two Alan and Don were all mean and mocking because their cunning plan was working like a charm and because seeing Charlie all flustered is always of the good.Well, of course Don is used to seeing Charlie hot and flustered but that's neither here nor here.

But it was nothing compared to the Great Smug Expression of the two of them which came, well, just now. And for good reasons, too. "We know something that you don't, Charlie boy," says Don looking so very intent *cue to his fangirls squeeing*

"Now what?" worries Charlie. He's starting to think he shouldn't have accepted to play with those two, they're mean. They don't even respect his genius, and really, that's just plain wrong. The thought that maybe he just should have stopped being arrogant crosses his mind too, but... naaah, that wouldn't be fun.

That's when the sentence falls. "CHECKMATE, mate!"

"Oh, you've got to be kidding me!"

"No, we're not. Look at my over-joyed and smug face? This is me, Don, one half of the team who defeated the great Charlie Eppes, ah! Cry little brother."

"Oh.... ohhh I see..."

"... your intellect couldn't beat my intellect, so you distracted me with this evil plan and you made me lose track and OMG you're just mean!"

*Okay now a decision, quick! Do I pout or do I look sarcastic? I think sarcastic might save my dignity. A little* "I think I hate you. Just so you know."

"Come on now, Charlie. Winning isn't everything, right? Chess isn't just about moving pieces you know, it's also being cunning and machiavellian and knowing your opponent's weakness, and yours? Is so easy."

"Oh yeah? Well know what? This is the last game. See my hand doing this little move? This is me telling you it's over. I won't ever play with people who use such devious plots, nah uh. I'm so very disappointed in you, Father."
Can it get cuter than this? Actually IT CAN! I'll prove it with batch #3 which should come shortly.
