Numb3rs 2x19 and other stuff...

Spent a lovely afternoon with the French Posse, as per usual. I love me some slasher talk in Paris - tis so classy :-) I also want it to be said that the Starbucks fix we had? Wasn't initiated by me. I merely asked where they wanted to go and they said Starbucks. So, like, I can totally not force people to go and have a drink there, see? Thanks. SAM and I came bearing gifts of the Supernatural and Prison Break variety for GD so now she'll be able to join us all in the squee, yay!
And before leaving I watched Numb3rs - my life is so hard, wow! - and it was another regular-and-cool episode. Nothing outstanding happened per se, but it was still cool for a lot of reasons, which I'm going to tell you about because... this is me we're talking about? Yes.
One thing first, I think it was the first time that I used one of the numbers given at the very start of the episode - you know the little list? - to find the culprit. Like, the 6 minutes stood out and told me it was about rape. You know, because of the statistics? So when we saw the shooting at school and when some boys seemed to be singled out, it told me what I needed to know, that it had to be a revenge for a rape. So when Karen appeared on screen, well, it had to be her, QED. I was still curious to see what exactly the whole deal was about and how it happened and stuff because some stuff didn't compute though.
I like how the writers mentioned Don and Charlie's teenage years again, I like the fact that the issues Charlie had in high school aren't just something that was used for one episode but an integral part of the Numb3rs storyline. And I loved the last scene - though no daddy!Eppes? Me sad! - because the brothers were so sweet; Charlie's little "there were days when I wanted to do real damage... to you" sounded quite real, and Don's reaction was great. I enjoyed how he used humour and how Charlie responded.
Which, btw? Remember when I said - just yesterday, which as timing goes is pretty funny - that I watched my show without my slash goggles on? Well dude! I'm sorry but if one half of my OTP says something like "I'll get on my knees" to the other half of my OTP, I'm sorry but my inner slasher cannot ignore it! Eeee "I'll get on my knees" *dies laughing* Thank you, Don, for that wonderful come back!
So anyway, they had their pretty cute mock fight and then Don invited Charlie for dinner and Charlie mocked him for always being in his house and it was so sweet I might have melted a little :-)
Something else that had me melt is the Megan/Larry scenes. Awwww ohmygod but Larry was so incredibly cute. He was so endearing! More so than usual. And just - I loved how he worried about inviting her, and how kinda bratty both Charlie and Amita behaved towards him but hey, however crude their attempt at giving Larry and Megan privacy was, it worked! And that scene was just adorable. Megan/Larry = lovely Numb3rs ship :-) And I loved how she mentioned his car again, because yes, she was totally in love with the car too! Their flirting goes back, man *g*
Okay onto the Random Stuff:
Poor Don. I felt sorry for him when he had to pick up the phone and announce the bad news to the dad. That's one of the many reasons why I couldn't have done that kind of job.
"By we, I mean Charlie." So sweet!
Sweet was also when Charlie praised Don for thinking like a mathematician :-)
No Alan, like I said, but David was back, and that is of the good. I missed you David!
Colby having to justify his tech knowledge, ha! Poor guy lol
Unrelated now. So my muses aren't working atm - my
ts_ficathons has completely stalled and just - well, I can't seem to be able to write when I have to. Writing a fic because I want to is one thing, writing one because I have to meet a deadline? Doesn't work. I wish I was one of those writers who can just tell themselves 'okay, today I'll sit down and write' but so far that's not how it's done with me, so seriously, if - by some miracle - I do finish the bloody story? I hope it'll teach me a valuable lesson; ie never sign up for a challenge ever again! *dies*
Still, remember when I mentioned editing my Even Trade fic, how I added a couple of scenes? Well the story came back from my beta this morning - thank you again! - so I still have a little TS in store... even if it's not new new.
