Yaoi is my Friend
Jun. 19th, 2003 02:39 pmI'm warning everyone, this entry could be kinda incoherent - my brain hasn't made all the right connexions yet. My head seems to weight a ton, and my thoughts are like stuck in a foggy world. I'm functioning in slow-motion... and it's not a pleasant feeling *tries to pout* Why? I actually slept less than three hours *points four fingers* *frowns* Oh damn! I said 'three' *points three fingers this time* Better.
My so-called night still had a positive side though, since I was able to find some great yaoi scanlations... I don't think you're reading this, Kat, but thanks anyway *g* You'll have a real report in your mail later promise. I just found the perfect yaoi! *eg*
Looking at all these scanlations was still kinda painful for the old-computer owner that I am. I mean, I sure can't donwload them on my HD, Clark would never stand the pressure, my poor boy, and I can't burn them on CDs since... well, I don't even have a cd burner.
Actually, if I had to give a title to the situation I was in, I'd called it "Tantalus Torments" lol I was seeing all these scanlations of mangas I can't find here, or would spent too much money if I really wanted to find them - I saw them right in front of me, for free, in English and I couldn''t have them! Life can be cruel sometimes.
It wasn't so cruel that I couldn't donwload at least one, though. I decided to choose one, and I decided to pick a yaoi called Bird in Cage, which seemed just perfect: dark, angst, slavery, old businessnam buying a young boy to be his catamite, his son falling in love with the boy when he gets older, betrayal, resentment, love etc... Very good stuff IMHO *eg* And it was a very good choice, if I may say so myself.
I donwloaded the thing on floppies... Just imagine the process with a 56k modem - it took forever! And it sure took some room too. Sixteen floppies for one manga... pathetic, I'm telling you!
But hey, at least I was able to read it. And it was worth the hassle of waiting for ever, believe me *g* Since I intend to donwload all the other scanlations, I'll just find someone with a proper computer, and I'll download them on CDs. And of course, I already found the solution to that little problem. I'll just invite myself at my parents office, they have everything that I need, adsl included. There's something to say about your parents being their own bosses, sometimes lol
And in case someone thinks I'm exploiting them. A) I'm exploiting their computers not them and b) don't worry about them, they know how to exploit their kids, nephews and other close friends of said kids, when they need someone to work for them lol So it won't be a problem *g* And I can be patient anyway.
Hey, I saw that
turps33 and
babycakesin were talking about Harry Potter in their last entries/comments, and it reminded me... did I tell you we bought the new DVD of HP? I don't think I did. Yeap, we're now in possession of the second movie as well, hurray!!
I watched it with my mom --she's a HP fan too, yeah, I'm addicting a lot of people around me, what can I say, it's my mission in life lol-- yesterday night, but even though she does speak English --she spent a year in England when she was younger-- when she's watching a movie for the first time, she prefers to see it in French, so I had to cave in, of course. But now, I'm going to watch it properly, ie in English!
