How moving! / The OOC Fake Post Meme
Aug. 29th, 2004 12:18 pmI've been in one hell of an XF mood this weekend and even though I have some strictly-XF fics awaiting for me right now - I want to re-read Subterfuge, just to name one - I also decided I would try and mix two of my favourite fandoms together, so I've been cruising 852 Prospect for TS/XF crossovers.
While perusing the xover page, I found something incredible! The fic that made me want to try the TS fandom! I knew it was a crossover with Due South but I didn't remember the title at all, and to be honest, I haven't been looking anyway because you know what I usually think of DS. Even though I love the show I'm not interested in its fandom - unless the fics are written by
estrella30, but that's another story altogether - and the fact that my finding TS actually comes from DS is already ironical enough without me digging further.
Anyway, I was reading the summaries of all those fics because everyone knows that even when you're looking for some specific stories, you shouldn't neglect the others - a seasonedslasher reader knows the goodies one could find - and BAM! I found THE one - the story I read that made me want to learn more about those Jim and Blair characters, namely Valse à Deux Temps by Laura Jacquez Valentine. Man, I was so moved *shaking voice*
And since I was down memory lane, I had another epiphany and I suddenly remembered the very first story where I heard about Jim and Blair [Well, technically, I already knew about them because I watched the show when I was in high school, but it was sorta vague in my memory at the time] So yeah, the story, it was a crossover with XF and believe me when I say this one did not pick my curiosity as far as J/B was concerned since in that fic, Blair was a snivelling little bastard who'd betrayed Jim and had been killed by him in retaliation [I think Jim was a mob of some sort] and if I remember correctly, the pairing was Jim/Krycek. Don't ask me more, just thinking I read something like thatembarrasses pains me now and makes me shudder - my poor BlairBaby! My poor J/B beloved pairing! *cling*
Ah, the joy of Fandom First Times lol
ETA: Trying not to spam your flists too much - yeah, that's a first *g* Anyway, I've seen this meme all over my flist and after I've played several times, I got curious, so I'm joining the bandwagon *g* Let's see what the playful part of my flist could come up with, should they decide to play as well *g*
1. Comment to this entry with a post you think would be totally out of character for me—something I'd never talk about, never discuss, never say, anything. It has to be completely out of character.
2. Post this in your own journal if you want to.
