Jan. 7th, 2010 07:23 pmFirst things first, the happiest of happy birthday to
alinewrites and
theoret, hope you had a fantastic day *hugs*
Second - completely unrelated and without the slightest segue. I have a lot of studying to do for the next two weeks - more books and articles to read, an essay to write, a research project paper thing to send my thesis director (the initial meeting was cancelled and the new one is in three weeks. I won't lie and say I wasn't delighted to receive that mail\o/) as well as mid-term to prepare for and two long-ass texts to translate - but I'm afraid I've been bitten by the bandom bug again. That is, I don't know, I was catching up with the fics that had been posted while I was away in Normandie and man, it was like I was falling in love with Brendon and Spencer and Ryan and Jon all over again! And now it's as if I couldn't get enough, which, come to think of it, might not be that different from my usual state. Whatever.
Worse, I found some new Bob/Mikey and Pete/Mikey to read - thank you
popoffacork - and it felt like it had been too long since I really read any MCR so I want that too.
Good news is that I discovered strength I had no idea I even had, meaning I do manage to study a little every day after work/class. Coming from the queen of procrastination that I am (or is that princess? I think
greedy_dancer is fighting for the title of queen with all her procrastinatory might) this is huge!
I think I'm still right in the middle of back-to-school-euphoria where everything is bright and shiny. I'm still scared I'll fail and I still think I was a bit mad to do it, but I also enjoy the whole thing. I know I could (should!) work harder but I'm happy I manage to do what I do *nodnod*
PS: it snowed overnight and this time we got a couple of cm, which made me squee!
PS2: on my way home, I treated myself with a meringue aux amandes (almond meringue) and omg! So good!
