Ridiculous Fail day and XMFC fanvid recs
Jun. 19th, 2011 11:38 amGuys, Cookie and I had the Failiest Failed Saturday that Ever Failed in Failing Land. It was such a ridiculous succession of fails that I could almost not believe it! It all started in the morning. I'd hoped to be able to (finally) sleep in Saturday morning but woke up at 7.00 due to cramps. Couldn't go to sleep after that, especially when Jack-the-cat was busy rehearsing for some Cat Opera, he kept mewling like crazy. Said cat, two hours later, decided to discover the world as he jumped from the kitchen window. And disappeared. We looked for him in the neighbourhood to no avail. We left the house, anyway, as we had to be at my friend Sandra's. We took the train and stopped at the wrong station. Had to wait 20 more minutes for the next train. We arrived at destination and then waited 40 minutes for our friend Fred to come get us (he'd actually misunderstood where we were supposed to meet and had, of course, forgotten his mobile). I'll add that it was raining like cats and dogs by then and that the painkillers were not working anymore. The lot of us did manage to find each other, though, and we had a good time together. We left a bit earlier than planned so that we could be home not too late for when the cat would make his apparition again, right? Except due to a hellish train signalisation we took the train in the wrong direction! Cue our taking another train but, of course, we had to wait for around 25 minutes. All in all, it took us 1h30 to get to Montgeron and 3 hours to get back. Add to that that I hurt a toe when the bus we took to reach the flat stopped abruptly, and you'll have the recipe for a Ridiculous Day. But, it did end well as the cat was found again, so I guess it could have been worse.
I'm hoping today will go more smoothly. We're leaving in twenty to go to the In-laws to celebrate Cookie's (well, mine by association, too) nephew's birthday - but first we're making a detour at my parents' because his present has been sent there and we were too dead on our feet yesterday to go and retrieve it. Then we'll go back to my parents late afternoon so that we can celebrate Father's Day.
Between yesterday's trip and today, we'll have been "traveling" for 7 hours. Like, almost a whole day spent in stupid suburb trains!
Before leaving, some XM:FC. It's funny because you can see that screeners have been found from the content of the most recent fanvids. Though I'm sure we're all greedily waiting for the HD version to leak. Anyway, our fanvidders are doing a hell of a good job, nonetheless, and the last two vids I just watched are gorgeous. Love the Way you Lie first (Coin scene, be still my heart!) and
talitha78's Till the World Ends. I don't need to mention they're both Erik/Charles, do I?
