May. 4th, 2015 08:23 pmFifth entries in (ok, a bit longer than) a week. Can you tell I'm trying to be more active around here? I'm also trying to comment more. Seeing as I've never stopped reading my friend's page - read it almost daily, as a matter of fact - it shouldn't be that difficult to leave a comment every now and then. And, ideally, much more often than that ;) I still love LJ as I've mentioned in the past, but I supposed if you enjoy a place, you try to visit on a regular basis and engage with the people around.
Anyway.
I've had a nice weekend, if a bit grey. Mind you, I enjoyed it a lot, don't even know why. Guess I was feeling mellow and listening to the rain fall appealed to me, especially when I was lazily curled up on the couch, reading fic. It was a very nice Sunday morning :) Suppose it was also an inspiring one, as I visited the DD kink meme and dropped a couple of prompts. I'd forgotten how much fun it was! We'll see if authors get inspired by them as well ;)
Speaking of kink memes; aren't they frustrating sometimes? I'm not even talking about the fact that you read all those fantastic prompts that all speak to you and make you glassy-eyed every now and then as they push some of your favourite buttons and you know that, alas, they won't be all filled, no I'm not even talking about that (although, it's definitely true as well). I'm talking about the fact that you see all those comments obviously posted by kindred spirits (not only do they enjoy your new favourite show but they also share many, many of your kinks) and you have no way of knowing who's who?
Possibly there are people you could add to your flist (and, wow, feels like I haven't added someone new in ages!) but you will never know because they're all anon and you're anon to them and everyone is having fun together but the masks won't ever come off and you'll never know who enjoyed your prompt, who posted that absolutely hilarious comment or who basically lives in your brain because, wow, you could have written that feedback right there!
Anyway, kink memes... so pleasant but also so frustrating ;)
Wait, before I hid "send"; speaking of DD and people living in my brain, I've read that column today about how well Daredevil does "dark and gritty" (a reason why some people enjoyed the show so much and why other didn't) and I kept smiling and nodding because yes, I could have written that post :)
Daredevil's dark and gritty tone isn't the only reason why I love the show (I could wax poetry about all the other elements that made me fall in love with it) but it was definitely a part of the appeal.
