Dark is so compelling to me, if everyone agrees it is, I mean, if the show is dark, I'm going to enjoy it even more than I thought *is impatient*
As people have probably told you already, the show doesn't really hit its stride until around the end of the first season, so don't be surprised if you're not wowed by it until then

My first impression of Crichton was that, really, he seemed really different from Cameron, which is why I was surprised because from what I'd heard when reading sg s9 reviews, it seemed people thought they were lots of similarities. I was almost - almost being the keyword, of course - expecting a second sort-of-Cameron, which didn't happen. And yeah, Aeryn and Vala certain are different too - I mean, it does look obvious.
