Yup, I've seen that as well, and been baffled. Although I've been pleased that there are also a fair few people saying the opposite.
Yes, they're both friendly Southern guys who are smart and make funny remarks, and sometimes fly stuff and point guns. But beyond that - not really seeing that they have much in common. Very different personalities.
And I think Mitchell probably has most in common with season 1 Crichton; the differences get even more drastic from here on in.
