I had an early night yesterday - going to bed/sleep at midnight is an early night, no matter what a lot of people say - but not before catching up with Heroes and Dexter.

Heroes first. Seriously, I'm getting into the show more and more with each new episode; I'm bouncing at what is happening on the screen but I'm also bouncing because of the anticipation. Each time a new link is made I'm anticipating the moment when all the pieces will come together and it's of the good. I just love it when something happens that make the characters a little closer yet because I'm imagining the moment when it'll become real and I cannot wait! Hopefully it'll happen before the season finale, too *is impatient* We'll see...

Let's talk quickly about some of our heroes now:

Oh Claire, what have they done to you! I couldn't believe what was happening with Rapist Wannabe but when she got away I thought she would kick his ass somehow not get herself killed - I certainly hadn't seen that one coming *cringe* And then they upped the ante and ohhhh god! Seeing Claire all opened like that was... quite disturbing. When I saw the scene though, I wondered whether it was real or a hallucination - like, maybe his creepy!father could have been spying on her and he would have helped her after Fucking Rapist Wannabe left in a hurry... or maybe Not Popular Guy? Though if it is real, well kudos to the writers because it's gonna be interesting seeing where they'll go afterwards.

Then Peter - poor Peter, things aren't the best for him either. And Nathan is such a bastard. Opportunist, bastard - it's all the same here. I'm curious about his not being able to fly; okay see, I'm still gung ho on the whole empathy thing - yes I'm stubborn sometimes - and I'm thinking could he not fly because, well, flying isn't easy to do and he needs to train a lot more and then he'll do it, no problem, or was it because he can't really fly on his own but needs someone who does beside him? Like... if he's an empath, he could need the vibes somehow? And yeah okay I admit it's a bit of stretch but I love the idea of having a character with that kind of power in the team, is all, so I'm trying to find a solution lol But seriously, the flying thing rocks so I'm not complaining or anything... Besides, considering what a jerk Nathan can be, it might be that we'll only have Peter in the good team so the problem will be solved, anyway.

Hiro has a sidekick! Like any good superhero is supposed to and it filled me with glee that Ando joined the madness :-) I adored them on their rescue mission and, incidentally, I quite enjoyed the visual effect when Hiro stopped time, twas nifty *g* Was that little goldorak action figures coming out of the truck, btw? Looked a bit like it but I'm not sure. I was quite impressed that Ando accepted to leave and join Hiro like that - I mean, those two are some atypical brave and heroic characters, they're fantastic - Hiro never fails to make me squee ♥ ♥

As for Mohinder... he's discovering quite a lot and I'm still worried that every time he does, it's near Skinny Suspicious Girl. I really wish I knew what side she's really on, once and for all, so that I could stop wondering - though I suppose that's the whole point and I'll have to wait? That's mean!

Matt is growing on me and I feel bad for the guy - his situation sucks all around, it seems. I'm also grateful to him though because thanks to his story-line we got to 'meet' our Villain and it'd seem everything about him is creepy but one thing is sure, his powers are all kinds of awesome. Totally creepy because used in the worst way but awesome all the same.

Now onto Dexter. Dexter's psycho!crush on Super Psycho is absolutely endearing... in the most twisted way. And Psycho's way of trying to attract his attention because he wants to impress Dexter is... well, let's just say interesting and let's keep it at that.

Dexter is fascinating; I enjoy his monologues a lot. They remind me of Kyle's own in Kyle XY, except here we have a monster talking instead of an innocent - still, they're insightful and interesting and funny, albeit in a wicked way, and yes, I decided I need to download that show, after all, so there.

I also quite enjoy the flashbacks... and I'm struck by the difference between teen!Dexter and adult!Dexter. If the latter doesn't seem so human - say, he goes out of his way to make us truly believe it - the former seemed like he cared about a lot of things, still. I wonder to what extent Dad's way of channelling Dex' urges made him the man he is today. Or maybe it's just what happened to Dad that made Dexter stop caring about a lot of things... I'm also dying to know what happened in Dexter's past, the thing he blocked out.

Dexter and Rita now... I don't know what to think of that couple. She's so damaged and skittish and courageous because she took the risk to trust another man and trust her with her happiness and she thinks she's finally found the one man who'll be able to make her happy, to understand her, and that man is Dexter? So he does seem to feel something for her, and it's kinda new and stuff, but what comes next? Talk about a damaged, fucked up couple, that one. But if it works even in a dysfunctional way - made even more dysfunctional since Rita doesn't know the half of it... why not? This show does bad things to me, making me think that a damaged woman having a relationship with a serial killer could, maybe, eventually, for the time being anyway, do her any good *cringe*

Oh and this is another show where I quite enjoy the secondary characters too - I love Angel and love Deb and Rita and I'm quite interested in Dad Morgan, too.

Still on the subject of Dexter - the show airs on Showtime and the network website is a jerk who doesn't want foreigners to visit it and I need some help - I remember that I used to add something to the URL so that I could access it even from outside the US of A - does anyone can help me here? Thanks in advance.

Unrelated now, some time ago
