I had a family oriented weekend. In addition to The Teachers, The Famous Five came over yesterday - as well as The Esu - for my father's birthday. We always celebrate one of our birthdays together but this time we really wanted to make it good for my dad because last year, my grandfather's funeral fell on his birthday and, as you can imagine, no one felt like celebrating anything. Actually, I always felt a little twinge in my heart when I think of Dad and his birthday because his own father died just four days before it and it's like he can never really forget. But anyway, onto nice things; we were all together and we had a blast and my little papa was spoilt and it was of the good.
As for today, the four parents were invited at a family friends' while my three cousins joined The Esu at my grandparents' house. I actually bailed out and stayed home because I had stuff to do, including... finish my Numb3rs fic! Hee omg you heard right, I.wrote.fic! The first prompt I received the other day definitely inspired the muse. I started writing the story yesterday morning and could only finish it today but it's done! It's also 4000+ words which, wow, I almost thought I'd never wrote another fic in ALL MY LIFE and here I just wrote something that is NOT a drabble \o/ Life is good. Seriously, writing that story? Made me high... when you haven't written a single line for months going back to the writing is pure heaven! The story went in a direction I hadn't planned but this is also something I'm used to so hey, see if I care! I WROTE A FIC! That's really the one thing that is of importance here *g*
Oh and speaking of Numb3rs, I watched "Traffic" and I'm digging that third season so much. It's like season 1 all over again, really.
Sorta review bullet-points style because I don't have too much time around Clark tonight. I liked the episode and loved a lot of things in it:
Oh and would anyone have the song that was played at the beginning of the episode, please?
Lastly, new Dexter tonight, woohoo!

Sorta review bullet-points style because I don't have too much time around Clark tonight. I liked the episode and loved a lot of things in it:
- I thought Charlie was in to form in last week's episode but maybe he's just in top firm this season, period. I absolutely adore it, though, so I'm okay with the whole thing *g* I loved a lot of his deliveries. in that episode, I had to rewind many of this scenes..
- Those Numb3rs writers know how to write their families, even when they're just guest families! Poor little siblings... loved how big brother put his arm around little brother's shoulders to comfort him.
- Charlie teaching his class! Can't ever get enough of this *g*
- "Looking for pattern in a series of random events? Oh dear, professor Eppes wouldn't approve." Hee Colby, good one lol I also can't get enough of the banter between our beloved agents.
- Charlie being all 'oh man Megan was so funny with her too random question' and Larry not seeing the humour was also a funny moment - Charlie cracked me up here.
- And I loved the "shuffle mode... shuffle moooode, why am I such an idiot" moment.
- Charlie admitting that Megan was right without such a fuss was lovely; he's come a long way since his reluctant "you're a little right" in "Sniper Zero", hasn't he? *g*
- Charlie worrying about Larry and his living arrangements. Cute ♥
- But not as cute as the scene in Charlie's office with Charlie looking for the paper, Don playing darts and them gossiping together - oh, so much love! And their respective lovelives really are bad. "We're both busy" "It is what it is." Oh dear, they just should give up altogether, imho *cough*
- Charlie and Alan's little duo act re: the off the road until they catch the guy thing was another nice touch.
- Don drinking in the dark... at his brother and father's place. How much do I love the fact that he's still there and not in his own flat? It also says a lot of angsty things about Don, so it's even more of the good.
- Charlie giving Don more work to do and Daddy!Eppes' disgusted face at them both. Loved the little looks Charlie kept giving Alan, as if to say 'I know you don't approve but this is what Don needs.' Incidentally, I love that Charlie knew what Don needed.
Oh and would anyone have the song that was played at the beginning of the episode, please?

Let's not forget that had been "he was a little right", thus not spoken directly to the person who had been "a little right" (our very own Edgy ;) ), but to Don. Yep, he's come a long way. :)
According to tv.com, this episode was meant to be the third, so coming right after Two Daughters it would have tied Don's angst better to the events in that one.
And yeah, it's obvious Don doesn't want to brood alone. He wouldn't be at The House if he wanted that, but instead he joins the two people who might know how to get him out of it.

Why do they keep on messing with the episode order? They're always doing that. It's annoying *sigh*
Yeah I love that Don doesn't really want to stay alone; how he never really wants to *hugs him*

"Looking for pattern in a series of random events? Oh dear, professor Eppes wouldn't approve."
I loved that line, too.
And Dan and Charlie gossiping about Larry and Megan cracked me up. Then the aborted high-five almost killed me. See the puppy note above ;)
Poor Don angsting again. There are time he looks positively harrowed. *pets him*

Charlie's 'oookaay' was just priceless lol

::twirls you::
Ok, so it's not J/B fic, *pouts*, but YOU WROTE A FIC! Which is most definately of the good. *hug*
I'm so glad you had a lovely family weekend. The first year after a death of such a beloved family member as your grandfather is always the hardest. So many events are marked by that person's absence. It's a tribute to you and your family that you were able to take papa's birthday *this* year and use it as the starting point, in a way, of going on with the Joy of Life.

You always say the sweetest things concerning family life, mate *hugs*

I went to my account today to see how many files were still available and they were all gone. And when I try to dload this one file it says it didn't comply with the TOS. Bah!

Yup. All of it, just yes. Could not agree more. *nodnod*

That was such a perfect little scene. Oh, boys. ♥
And I'm seriously loving Megan/Larry more every ep.
Oh and would anyone have the song that was played at the beginning of the episode, please?
Do you know what it's called? I could probably find it if you have a name?
Lastly, new Dexter tonight, woohoo!
Dude, I know, how great is that?! DEXTER YAY!

~"...excessively random." Bwahahaha! Oh, that mathematician humor. *g*
~Don and Charlie in the office!! OMG, so much love for that entire scene. Don throwing darts while Charlie can't find what he's looking for, lol. And seriously, they need to dump the women and stop pretending they don't have the hots for each other, and just do it! *g* Gossipping about Larry and Megan, yay! And the aborted high-five at the end?! ♥♥♥
~I loved Don drinking in the dark and not really wanting to be alone (because if he did, he'd have gone to his apartment, yes!), and Alan trying to help him. Loved Don's, "this is how I am" and Charlie knowing what Don needed, which was to be busy on something he might be able to change, and not think about the things he couldn't change.
There was just so much to love about this ep!
P.S. I knew that someone had made a vid to that song at the beginning of the ep, but I couldn't remember who, or in what fandom.

Don drinking in the dark alone except not so much because he chose to come to his father-brother's home was quite a lovely and angsty touch. It says a lot about Don, doesn't it? *loves*

I'm glad your dad had a good birthday. It must be so hard for him, knowing celebration will always be tied to loss. But I know he's got a wonderful family around him. *hugs*

Hee I am, sis, I am! Last night I finished the Heroes fic I mentioned and I'm already thinking of tackling a new prompt. Sam/Dean or Jim/Blair? Decisiou, decision... though the muse already whispered some stuff re: the former so we'll see :-) It's just a bit complicated with my busy schedule, still, it's working just fine right now and I'm feeling good! Next time I have writer's block, I won't wait forever, I'll just ask the flist for some prompting :-)
And thanks *hugs*
