(no subject)

There are many, many things I enjoy reading when I'm cruising the good ole flist; slashy and kinky talks are two obvious guesses, but I also have an insane amount of love for every cosy talk popping up. You know, when someone will tell you about their quiet evening or a lazy morning or any kind of mellow moment they had? It always makes me feel all tingly inside. I love the world when it's slowing down a little bit, and cosy & quiet is one of my favourite feelings :-)

Okay and why I am suddenly waxing poetry about the thing? No special reason. Except that I went out with a couple of friends today and on my way home I treated myself with a piece of cheesecake, then I got home, made myself milk à la ricorée, snuggled up on the couch and watched - for the second time in two days - The Greatest Show on Earth, the christmas lights in my living room bathing the room softly and, I don't know, sometimes 'simple moment' is just the way to go, you know?

To tell the truth, I feel so mellow right now that I would love to bail on my dinner and stay home but that would be mean so I'll be brave and go *nods*

Completely unrelated but I'm listening to I'll Look After You by The Fray and that song is asking to be ficced, really... there's a part in particular that screams Night 'verse to me, it never fails. It's funny actually because Fall Out Boy usually makes me want to write SPN and The Fray is all about the Night 'verse. One of those things, I guess.

Those simple moments really are the best. It's lovely to just sit and enjoy the quiet at times.

You know what? I think you should keep listing to that song, maybe more Night will come seeping into your brain then *nods*

It really is. I like to think of home as a safe haven from the madness that is the World Outside sometimes and I love having the time to enjoy those quiet moments *g*

Funny thing that I always have a lot of Night thoughts in my head; the problem is to take an idea and turn into a fic.

Also, there's a scene that I wrote eons ago - I actually thought I'd used said scene in a part I'd posted, then remembered that I'd deleted it and meant to use it in another fic except I lost the file altogether when Clark died on me a couple of years ago - and I'm dying to write it again and finally write everything else that goes with it.

I should make it my #1 resolution for 2008.

Hey darling. You're absolutely right, it's just really nice to be reading cozy posts, particularly after a harassing week. ♥

It totally is. And speaking of harassing week, hope you've been able to take it easy and have a nice break this weekend? *hugs*

doitdoitdoit...more Night 'verse would be too cool for school...writeitwriteitwriteit

The Greatest Show on Earth?? Is that the old movie with Burt Lancaster?

I love turning off all the lights except for the Christmas tree lights late at night after everyone else has gone to bed...might have to do that tonight. And I haven't watched It's a Wonderful Life yet this Xmas season...maybe I'll do that tonight too.

Mellow is apparently contagious.

*smooch*

If I turned every little scene of Night verse that pops in my head on a regular basis, I'd have a whole epic written down by now. It's a bit frustrating at times, but I'm the one not writing so I need to make myself concentrate. Or something.

Did you mean Charlton Heston? There's also James Stewart. Among others, obviously. I adore the whole movie. Makes me think of my parents' work, too *g*

Oh yeah, I know the feeling!

Hope you had the time/opportunity to watch It's a Wonderful Life by now :-)

See, sometimes it's just nice to hear that other people are doing good and they are treating themselves to a nice, quiet personal time. And your night definitely sounded nice. I hope you've had a good Christmas and that your New Year will be full of good stuff ^_^

Yes, that's it, exactly. It's a good thing to have 'me' times every now and then, it's good for the soul :-)

I hope you've had a good Christmas and that your New Year will be full of good stuff ^_^

Thanks *g* And ditto!

Milk à la ricorée? *is curious*

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay so actually 'Ricoré' is the brand and not the 'ingredient' so it's technically 'milk à la chicorée', ie 'chicory' in English? That's my favourite everyday hot drink. I don't drink coffee or tea and though I love cold milk au naturel, I'm not really keen on warm milk without anything added in it so it's chicory for me :-)

Reading rec

You've probably already seen this, but just in case you haven't, check out this story --

I already forget the name, but it's Dean/Sam, coda to Supernatural Christmas, first time, and very achy-sweet. I think you'll like it.

I've already read the fic, yes, but thanks for the link all the same. And you do know my taste pretty well lol

Your evening sounds just beautiful I haven;t been able to have quiet, lonely evenings, due to Dad being up and about till five in the morning, but getting up at 5am with just the tree-lights and my lappy and a giant mug of milky coffee for company is almost as good.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday, honey. ♥

I'd say it sounds grand but for the 5.00 AM thing which makes me tired just thinking about it :-) Though you're right, 'almost as good' is always nice, anyway *g*

Thanks *hugs*
