How did I miss that?!

I watched 3x16 again - no, I don't know why I do this to myself, either - and I just noticed something. I have no idea how I actually missed the meat-hooks in Dean's side and shoulder the first time but they were there when I watched the episode again, in all their disgusting, gory glory! That last scene just became even more painful. And that's saying something.

I think I've heard that season 4 would start early September, is that correct? Because now I'm all set on September, so if it's October, it'll be a bit of a shock. Also, now that Summer Hiatus is upon us, I'm craving things like the SPN magazines and the companion books. I even want the tie-in novels! A little. I guess my body is acknowledging that I'll go into withdrawal soon and wants the equivalent of fannish methadone to make things easier.

And since I'm talking about tv. A time I absolutely love is when we get the Fall schedule. I always have a lot of fun going through the grid and selecting my watching for next year. The selection goes like this:

Shows I'll keep watching are - no surprise here, I think: SPN, Numb3rs, Pushing Daisies and Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles.

New shows that I'll 1. definitely try: Dollhouse - I've been waiting forever for that one 2. probably try: The Mentalist - sounds like a non-comic!Psych - and The Listener and 3. maybe try: The Ex List and Kings.

There's also Fringe but I think I'm a little over JJ Abrams' shows, so I don't know if I'll even start that one. Unless I do. You just never know with tv temptation.

The weather has been pretty rotten today and I decided to stay in so I just lazed around. As a result I caught a bit of a program on Idf1 and ohhh Dorothée! Ariane! Jacky! Patrick! I didn't watch the show but seeing them on the telly again was quite the trip down memory lane. Man, Le Club Dorothée was so the show I grew up with *is nostalgic*

Some time ago, I made a comprehensive list of all the shows that I want to check out this fall. It's kinda sorta LONG... *sweatdrops*

Yes, I saw that it kinda got long lol Having a choice is nice.

I love making those tv lists. And it's always fun seeing what the new shows are about :-)

Woohoo! Fall Schedule! Wait - they're making a show about Merlin, did you see that? Don't they know anything about the realy round table, dammit? Merlin was a putz! I wonder who's going to do Bohort...

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2008-05-19 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Lol I did see there were making a show on Merlin and my first thought was 'why would I want to give that one a try. I have Kaamelott, thank you very much!'

[identity profile] babycakesin.livejournal.com 2008-05-19 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)

I hope Spn starts in September, I'm going to be in Florida for the first 2 weeks and I'll have TV. It'll be exciting. ;p

I watched an episode of Pushing Daisies at the weekend. It's so Bryan Fuller it makes my heart ache for Dead Like Me, but it's still so good in it's own right. Which is great.

Oh so you'd be able to see SPN live? Nice!

Bryan Fuller is such a genius! I love the themes he writes about. I'm a big fan of his shows.

I love the way he manages to write about potentially serious topics, and make them funny without being entirely tasteless.

Because the whole thing could be so badly done, but he pulls it all off so well.

He is truly genius.

I love the layers in his shows. He's telling many stories with one storyline and I just love that. Also, he always has a plethora of great characters, and I love it when I can enjoy not one but many characters in an ensemble.
enigel: Aziraphale shielding Crawly under his wing (SPN Sam/Dean (by selluinlaer))

Re: SPN, I missed those on first viewing too, but I know why - I was farther from the screen than I usually am, and there was a TV Muggle with me distracting me. I watched the second part again to see if I missed anything and ouch, frakking ouch!

See, I thought Hell would be too expensive to CGI and they'd save Dean at the last moment. :( Even when he was being torn into by hellhounds I still hoped for a rescue...

BTW, what do you think happened in the Ruby-Sam scene? I mean, Lilith!Ruby was all poised to kill him, and yet he survived without a scratch. He didn't look like there were any powers manifesting. And then Ruby (whether Lilith or her own self is uncertain) tells him to back down, but doesn't defend herself in any way, and then flees the body. I mean... what? And where was Bobby?

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2008-05-19 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Glad to know I'm not the only one who missed them. I was like 'hey but what is th- omg that's a meat hook'! *cries*

I just thought Krpike & Co wouldn't have 'the guts' to send him to Hell for real. I'm really sorry I ever doubted them! I guess I was getting a bit too used to those finales they did when they didn't know whether they'd get renewed or not. You can definitely see a difference!

I have no idea, dude. I don't know, maybe, he did use his powers instinctively, as a shield one would use without thinking, which might explain why it looked like there was nothing out of the ordinary...

Then again, the way it was done, it almost looked like, I don't know, someone else - or something else - protected him.

And yes, where was Bobby? Might be of importance in what happens next? Summer hiatus never was that painful, seriously, dude!

It would definitely make that scene ten times worse if you didn't see them the first time *hugs*!

I want to see Dollhouse too and I think that I'll probably give Merlin a go as well.

It definitely did make it ten times worse *shivers* Those writes are evil, seriously!

I'm not that curious about Merlin though I'm not against trying it at one point. I think I'll wait and see if people watching it can interest me in giving it a go *g*
