Rambling on a lazy Monday

Slow day at work today. Tomorrow is bank holiday and many people took their Monday day off so that they could have a four-day weekend. No such luck for [livejournal.com profile] angeliksmall and me, but I don't mind that much. I'll admit that this morning was a bit difficult - I sorta had a problem with my alarm clock and I'm pretty sure I only started to really wake up when I was in the train on my way to work - but a) I'll sleep in and laze around tomorrow and b) seeing that so few people are here, we don't have as many stuff to do as usual. And we can take our time doing it. Which is why I'm writing this entry and Cookie is, wait a sec *asks her* ha! She's writing hers lol

I had a nice weekend and did everything I'd planned - Starbucks was visited (twice), shopping was done (I bought the cutest kilt - I just need to be in the mood to wear skirt+boots now) and Quantum of Solace was seen. I liked it. It was entertaining. And Daniel Craig rocks in that role. Then again, I'm not a James Bond purist, so that might be why I enjoyed the two new films in the franchise.

Merlin was watched, too. "The Beginning of the End" was another great episode. I'd say I'm enjoying that show immensely but it would be a bit redundant? Oh, what the hell, hee I'm enjoying that show so much! So much that it made me write a fic, remember? That's pretty remarkable. I'm 2250+ words into it, btw. Actually, the first chapter is done and if I suddenly found myself facing writer's block again, I think I'll be able to post that part. It works on its own.

As I see it, it's a bit as if I'd decided to bake a cake with several layers and only ended up doing one. The cake would still be good - that is, to my taste - and not look stupid so if I realised I had nothing left in the kitchen to do the rest, I'd still serve it. Because one layered cake can be good, too!

Well, that's my story - literally, I guess lol - and I'm sticking to it :-)

Oh, and D-4 before [livejournal.com profile] yami_tai arrives in Paris! We'll be busy girls: Friday night is The Hoosiers concert, then on Saturday we're planning on going to Pierrefonds with [livejournal.com profile] angeliksmall and [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy for a little Merlin pilgrimage.I'm hoping we'll get some nice pictures. Let's just it won't rain! *fingers crossed*

That'll make it my third Fangirl weekend in a row. I swear my other friends are gonna think I decided to trade them for a more fannish version of them lol

I want a beautiful sunny day to take wonderful pics of the Castle *nods*

Cappucino time now LOL

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2008-11-12 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Sunny and cold; a crisp day for our outing, that would be awesome! I vote for that!

What would we do without our cappuccino times! Even though they're not cappuccino breaks and we actually drink them at our desks while working. Still, cappuccino!

[identity profile] nicelyobsessed.livejournal.com 2008-11-16 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Cappuccino is love, our drug at work lol

Maybe next time we'll have a sunny day in Pierrefonds.

I desperately need to find somewhere online to watch Merlin. I caught the first episode somewhere (can't remember where) and was thoroughly charmed.

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2008-11-12 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
It is utterly charming. The cute factor is very high with that show *nods* It's sad we can't watch the episodes at the BBC website - I really dislike the whole 'restricted to insertcountry' thing.

Can't you join one the sekrit comms we never talk about and not!download the episodes there?

One layer cake can be awesome. I'm just saying!

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2008-11-12 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Stamp of approval! Thank you *kisses*

I have to admit that this Merlin episode was a little more interesting than the previous one, maybe because it was a little darker and less "all is well that ends well and let's forgive everyone".

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2008-11-12 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
A little darker is often a little better ;-) I see what you mean and I agree. Though I don't know which one was my favourite, "A Remedy that Cures All Ills" or that one...

[identity profile] yami-tai.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
*bounces* I really can't wait! Btw, I need to email you as Eurostar are messing with my train times *crosses fingers for an upgrade* ;-)!

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2008-11-12 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Day after tomorrow, Tai! Better email me, then, I agree. Preferably before Friday noon, too :-)

You're going to Pierrefonds? That's so cool.

I think that next summer there needs to be a fangirl trip to the Castle in Kent which is apparently what they use for some of the inside scenes. Or so the internet informs me...

*grins at the prospect of fic* Looking forward to it!

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2008-11-12 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
You're going to Pierrefonds? That's so cool.

That's the plan, anyway *fingers crossed*

I think that next summer there needs to be a fangirl trip to the Castle in Kent

Ohh that would be a great idea, yes!

*grins at the prospect of fic* Looking forward to it!

You and me both lol Thanks :-)

[identity profile] krazykipper.livejournal.com 2008-11-13 12:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Well if you're over for the Merlinmeet, maybe we shall do something one side of it. Kent is close to London and we could do an informal travel thing on the Monday. ;p

*boucnes* Give [livejournal.com profile] yami_tai a hug from me and have lots of fun!!

[identity profile] jedicathy.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I wanted to go to see the hoosiers too but i realize that i had another gig this day lol

I started to watch how we could reach pierrefond because we have a gig with cookie this saturday (another yes lol) so we should take the train at 18h04 to arrive in time but there are no bus to arrive in time... it's complicated lol I'll phone to cookie and write a mail if i can lol

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2008-11-12 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
You do go to a lot of gigs, don't you? :-)

Read your mail and answered it, as you saw, I know :-)

I bought the cutest kilt - I just need to be in the mood to wear skirt+boots now

Ooh, I hope that there are photos when it happens ^_~!

Quantum of Solace was seen. I liked it. It was entertaining. And Daniel Craig rocks in that role.

I saw it yesterday and loved it! But then I have a very high tolerance when it comes to James Bond so I'm not surprised by my reaction *g*!

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2008-12-01 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Lol You've really been catching up with LJ, haven't you? Not that I'm complaining, mind you, it's a lot of fun seeing you pop up all over my inbox :-)

Whenever I decide to wear the kilt, I'll try to remember to take a photo, yes.

I guess one must have a pretty high tolerance when watching James Bond, anyway; like a prerequesite or something ;-)
