Could anyone try to think of a better way to start a new week than starting it with yet another transport system strike? Because I could! It's pretty innovative and different, though, I'll admit. Start it without a strike \o/

Not that it ever occurred to those damn unions, obviously. It's getting old, you guys, really old. It could be a French drinking game! Take a shot whenever we talk about strikes. Everyone would be rolling under the table very fast!

See my - traditionally, wintery - icon? I thought I'd wait a little before using it, when something incredible happened yesterday that made me change my mind. It snowed! I repeat, it snowed! We had snow! In Ile-de-France. In November! I don't even remember the last time that happened.

It wasn't enough to stick but s.n.o.w! I saw it fall from the sky and it made me insanely happy :-) It also cracked me up because just a minute after it started snowing I got a call from my sister who wanted to make sure I'd seen it. And five minutes later it was a friend of mine who'd called for the same reason. So cute!

Something else I thought was cute - though it's 150% unrelated to the above - is the "prnt scrn" meme. I think I have a thing for that kind of picspams. I love them the same way I love watching at photos of people's homes... Just, you know, in a non-creepy way!

Same as the last time(s); I'm very faithful to my desktops, I always have the hardest time changing them. Guess the solution would be a rotating desktop. I'd have more than one, except I wouldn't have to replace any of them.


My browser, I guess? Or were we supposed to show something else? I put some Sam and Dean in there so that, in case I prntscrn'ed the wrong thing, people would be distracted enough not to really notice. Or care :-)

Unrelated yet again - though there was some Merlin hidden in that meme so I can pretend it doesn't completely come out of left field - ghyste found a beautiful, and oh so accurate, way of describing Merlin and the way it's basically the Tale of The Epic Love of Arthur and Merlin. "The slash," says she "isn't so much subtext as romping around right there in the open with its pants down". If that's not the cutest way of putting it?

We had snow here overnight too. The wet, heavy kind that coats all the trees and makes them look surreal and like your in an acid trip or something. And it's stuck on the ground...about 2-3 inches! There are snow-people sprouting up all over the place. I LOVE the first really-truly-honest-to-goodness-not-just-flurries-snowfall. Yay! Snow!

I was all "Gerard is gonna be a dad" then I realised this meant MikeyWay was gonna be an uncle! And, I don't know, there's something so incredibly cute in that that there are no words.

I can't help it, whenever I post a cap of my desktop, I wait impatiently for you to comment on the left side set up lol It's like a sort of tradition. And I love traditions :-)

You know, each time someone asks me about Merlin, an angel gets their wings! Or a little kid gets a kitten. Well, something beautiful happens!

Sadly, the show doesn't air anywhere else but in the UK at the moment. If you want to give it a try - heeomg yes please do! - you'll have to rely on torrents or those sekrit comms we can't talk about publicly.

I'd say that Merlin isn't a stellar show as such, except for how it'd hurt me to say this because there are so many wonderful things to love!

And the characters and the characters' dynamics are definitely part of it. Endearing and cute and dorky and strong and brave and powerful and all kinds of other adjectives. Including slashy, btw! It really is basically the story of how Arthur and Merlin fell in love.

It's the sweetest thing you ever saw! Not that I'm biased or anything :-)

And you also have Morgana and Gwen who both kick ass in the most wonderful ways! And there's a talking dragon! And magic! Oh and there's Giles playing Uther Pendragon, too. That is, Anthony Head. It has boys growing up. Women standing up for themselves in a manly's world. Friendship forging. Family recreating. It has many, many things!

If you can't find the pilot anywhere, just let me know, I'll totally help.
