(no subject)

Irony is Terri and me talking about how we feel like the time has come to give our TS comm to someone else because we haven't been involved in the fandom for a long time now, and suddenly finding a plethora of TS talks on our flists - vids, recs, scripts, new fics - thus making us talk about TS more in the past few days than we did in the past few months.

I swear it feels like the fandom felt some disturbance in the force and was trying to compensate!

It's been weird posting the entry announcing that we were looking for new mods for [livejournal.com profile] sentinel_thurs; it's been our baby for the past five years, that's a long time to mod a comm, when you think of it. It felt even weirder for me because I'm used to adding fandoms, not losing them! Well, it's not as if I'm abandoning Jim or Blair, but still, it was weird, is all *shrug*

Changing the subject; I often complain about strikes - well, we have so many of them, I can't not complain about them a lot - but sometimes they do have good sides.

Like, tomorrow (well, today, I guess)? Because public transport is - supposedly - going to be extremely disturbed, making the trip to and from work pure hell on Earth, Boss Man gave me (and Cookie) the day off! On the one hand, I'd say it's a good way for him to 'pay' us for the extra hours we pulled the past weeks, on the other, it's extremely sweet of him because no-one forced him to do that! He's such an awesome boss!

The timing couldn't have been better because I went out with a couple of friends tonight and got home at 1.00 AM. I thought I was going to crash - am still really tired these days - but here I am, at 2.47 AM, still wide awake. But, hey, I'll just sleep in tomorrow so it's a-okay \o/

*is sad* I made a similar post for [livejournal.com profile] ts_ficathons earlier this month. Man, I hate giving it up, and admitting that I'm not as much a part of the fandom as I once was, but I think the comm needs to be run by someone who is more involved. :(

Passing on the comm... wow. I have just read the thank you comments on the post in which you announced it - definitely touching.

It's always hard moving on or away, but if you're not totally invested in a fandom, things that were once a joy can become a chore and that's sad.

You've definitely left a legacy to be proud of.

Will the comm stay up even if no one takes it over, so the fics aren't lost?

I just checked the creation date on sentinel_thurs and wow! five and a half years, that's a loooong time in fandom. You both rock for keeping it alive and kicking for so long!

You've got a great boss!

The comments have left me so touched. No lie.
