Lost my internet connexion early in the afternoon before I left and it was still lost when I got home. Methinks it was a good thing I wasn't home or I'm pretty sure I'd have been all pathetic and just looked at the little light blinking and blinking even though it's not supposed to and trying to will it to stop doing so with my superpowers.

But it's back now, even if it's crawling more than anything.

I'm still behind many fannish things, but I've just watched Dollhouse. I guess I have stuff to say about the premiere, but it'd feel my brain? Is stuck on one thing, namely the (extremely) short white dress of sexiness! Omg! I rewound that scene a couple of time? But, just - Eliza Dushku makes me sweat just by her mere existence so erm, seeing her dance in a little wee white dress? Too much to compute!

Apart from the white dress - ♥ ♥ - I really liked that pilot and am intrigued enough to want to tune in every week to learn more. Or, let's say that I hope the rest of the season will interest me like the premiere did *fingers crossed*

Also, I'll just have to remind myself that this a Whedon show - even if (not that there's any reason why he shouldn't do things differently) it felt different from his other shows somehow, familiar actors excluded - meaning I'll have to brace myself for pretty much everything happening in future episodes. I know I'll certainly forget at one point and then feel crushed that Joss Whedon did what he's very good at, meaning killing your favourite characters or breaking them into tiny little pieces, or breaking your favourite characters into tiny little pieces before killing them, thus making you cry, but it'll be my own fault for forgetting who's behind the wheel, I guess.

Oh, and if I do get hooked for good, I'll start crossing my fingers so that the show doesn't get cancelled. Because I feel this would drive me crazy. Looks like the kind of show that creates a gazillion questions, so to imagine never getting any answers? Makes me want to cry already. But, ok, thinking good thoughts here! *thinks good thoughts*

OMG! No internet! That's tragic!

Thank goodness you didn't have to watch that.

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2009-02-19 09:16 am (UTC)(link)
It could have been more tragic, had I been home, so I guess I was lucky, but that little light on the livebox has way too much power over me, I think lol

I rewound that scene a couple of time?

Ahaha, you and me both, darling, you and me both. ;)

Hope your internet doesn't give you any more trouble.

Wasn't that scene just glorious? I'll have to thank the writers and wardrobe for making it such a wonderful moment ;-)

Apparently it was internet all over, so it's a bit more reassuring, in the sense that it wasn't my livebox that was messed up.

Hahahaha! I am amused that that scene was pretty much the ONLY interesting scene for me in the entire show. Gawd was I bored. It felt... cliché, overused, unoriginal and more like a J.J. Abrams show than a Joss Whedon one, lol. Heeeee! Look at that! We're back to disagreeing about a show! ;-p Well, that had to happen at some point, right? *smooch* I'm glad you enjoyed it, though, because I'm kinda crushed that I didn't. I had big hopes for that show. Though maybe I'll give it another chance. Sometimes you build yourself up so much for something that you're bound to be disappointed. So maybe a second look or the next ep will change my mind for the better. You never know. :-)

I enjoyed it enough that I want to watch the second episode and see what happens next; I'm not hooked yet. I do hope I'll really get into it, though.

Someone on my flist had the same reaction as you did with the premiere, she was bored with it, but really liked the second episode and thought it should have been the first instead, I'll go and see what's the deal; my download just finished...

Yeah, [livejournal.com profile] moimoietmoi just said she thought ep 2 was way better, and Aline said she'd heard Joss wasn't one for good starts (though I disagree with that but hey, if he's got that reputation, there's got to be something in it, no?), so I'm downloading ep2 and we'll see. I've a feeling Eliza might be a problem, though, to be honest. Because while I enjoy drooling all over her occasionally, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to stomach her acting skills on a regular basis. Unless she also improves with ep2 which isn't impossible. Pilots are often awkward and not quite up to the rest of a season so... We'll see. I'll definitely give it a shot. *fingers crossed* :-)

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2009-02-27 10:49 am (UTC)(link)
True enough, if the problem comes from Eliza herself, then it's going to be impossible to watch the show. I think I'm in for the whole season, so that's one more show for me to try to follow.

Yeah... no. I don't think I'm going to add it to my roster. At least not right now. Maybe I'll try again when the season is really much more underway and if reviews keep being good. For now, the first two episodes just didn't convince me. Well, it's not like I have all that much time to spare for new shows, mind you, so maybe it's for the good, uh?

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2009-02-28 12:03 pm (UTC)(link)
That's one less show to fall behind, yes :-) I know I'm behind pretty much everything atm; I'm not even trying to catch up now, I'll watch my shows when I watch them.
