I took a day off so that I could do some more work on the paper I have to hand in Sunday but I'm having trouble focusing this morning. Typical. It's not so severe that I'm wasting the day away (plus it's not even noon) but it's always a bit annoying when your mind seems to be wandering all over the place instead of settling in just one location. Good thing I've already accomplished a lot, guess I can allow myself to go a bit slower today. As long as I'm still going.
My problem is that the fannish part of me is excited about many things this week and is distracting the student part of me - admittedly, the student part of me is easily distracted. I think it's all Panic's fault. First, because today is Panic D-1 and I'm already vibrating thinking of tomorrow's gig. I'm going to see Brendon and Spencer! For real! I've been waiting for this for years! Almost thought it would never happen and had kinda given up on the idea of seeing them live and turns out I was wrong! Between you and me, being wrong never made me happier :-) Then there might be a quick trip to Germany in August to see them again. So far it's the most tentative plan ever but there has been talks of it so that is quite exciting, too! And just now, my friend Sandra sent me an email about a live show that Alexandre Astier (a French actor I absolutely love) will be doing next year and do I want to go with her? And it made me bounce and squee all over again. It feels like I'm stuck in a squeeing and bouncing loop since yesterday. On the one hand, it is a great feeling, on the other, it's not exactly conducive to academic productivity!
Speaking of, break over, let's go back to Lycidas :-p

Date: 2011-05-11 10:13 am (UTC)Good luck with the paper. I'm alone in my office on Wednesdays and I tend to get distracted more than on other days as well.
And yay for fannish delight!
PS. Belgium is on the way from France to Germany... I'm just saying...

So yeah, not much is being done at all, lol. Hope you're managing to be more productive than I am being at the moment!
