Slow day at work; it's still spring break and the university is pretty much empty. There're only three of us in my department this week - out of 20 - so it's quiet! I'm enjoying the peace, though I admit I'll be happy to have my coworkers back next week; a silent office is nice and dandy every now and then but I'd miss them if I were to be on my own all the time.

I'm about to update our website but I need some more intel, which should come my way soon-ish, which means that, in the meantime, I'm on stand by. I decided to use the "free" time as an excuse to come and update my LJ instead. As you do.

More precisely, I'm here to squee over yesterday's episode of Glee. Episode that I watched with [livejournal.com profile] crazybutsound via msn - I'd forgotten how fun it was to do it that way too :-) It reminded me of those episodes of Lost that I'd sometimes watch with [livejournal.com profile] babycakesin via msn. Fun times!

I have no idea what the consensus on the episode is - though, to be honest, I can't say I really care. All I know is that I absolutely loved it. I actually think it surprised me how much I enjoyed it lol There was a lot of exclamations marks, a plethora of "AWWW", a lot of caplocks, a whole bunch of "♥" and so many "Omg BLAINE" that I lost count. "Dance with Somebody" gave me ALL THE FEELINGS! I do mean all of them ♥ ♥

I'm a Blaine girl so, obviously, I'm biased but please, wasn't he absolutely heartbreaking in that episode? Darren Criss did such a great job with those scenes. Damn, Blaine looked so devastated while still trying to keep it together, until he couldn't and he just broke my heart into tiny little pieces. You little teenager you, with ALL THE FEELINGS!

I really enjoyed the lack of communication between him and Kurt; sounded quite realistic to me. Adults have problems with it and we're (made to believe we're) dealing with teenagers here, no wonder there was a distinct lack of communication. And it brough the angst to such a gorgeous level, too, what's not to love?

Blaine is an angry boy, isn't he? I think I like that with that character: how together he seems and how calm and sweet he is, but also how angry he can get. He's upset and actually "pissed off" that he'll have to be by himself and not have Kurt by his side anymore. I thought it was telling. And when he broke down and told Kurt why he'd been so distant all this time, how afraid he is to be left behind, for good - did I mention my heart breaking into tiny pieces? Ah, yes I did. Well, what can I say, that's exactly what happened!

Choosing a particular scene that I loved best would be difficult though, damn, Blaine's number? Was... hmm, I'm trying to find a way to express how much I enjoyed it but I'm hard pressed to do. Maybe my love for that scene can't be textually rendered? Seriously. So.fucking.sexy. Like I said to Jem "I feel like I'm cheating on Cookie right now. I'll have to tell her all about my watching the episode and having ALL THE FEELING for Blaine" lol Maybe I'm Blaine-sexual? Something like that ;-) As soon as the song finished I asked Jem if, maybe, it was possible that we rewound the scene and watch it again and I'm sure we could have rewound it many times more but we needed to see what happened next, right?

I loved that scene for Blaine - duh - but I also had so much fun with the others' reaction. Omg, Mike's face when Blaine starts and then the gang looking at Kurt and basically being all "o_O" was just perfect lol Even when they start joingng Blaine in the singing, you can see they're not really sure what's happening and I thought they all did a good job.

Then Kurt sang his own song to Blaine and I just about melted. Melted. Kurt's song. Blaine's look. Incidentally, loved Mike's face as well, when he turns to Blaine and the look they exchange. I love Mike-Blaine. We don't see enough of them together - or Blaine with anyone, really - but I still have tiny little moments like these, anyway.

Then they made up and there was sexting! And Blaine offering to blow off Glee club so that he could blow Kurt? I LIKE!

Ok, so I'm all about the Blaine-love but there were so many things to love about the episode, like that scene between Kurt and Burt. Aww, Burt! He is such an amazing character, sorta unassuming and yet so strong and so loving. He might be my favourite tv!dad of all time ♥ And Rachel and Santana little bonding moment in front of the lockers and their number, which was ACE! Loved Britt and Finn filming them, btw, it was such a boyfriend/girlfriend thing to do :-) And Will wanting to move up the wedding because he's afraid the kids wo'nt come if it's later in the year, aww, Will! And Puck! Puck and the little gifts to his bros and the "years of bromance" and the love and hugs ♥

So, yes, in conclusion: ALL THE FEELINGS. And also BLAINE! ♥

PS: pretend that I'm using an icon of Blaine in his black outfit, ok? I don't have one of those yet but I'll go and hunt for one asap.

Right, so I haven't watched Glee in a while because it just kept making me angry for various reasons and I just need to know now - is this ep worth watching? Did they break up? I saw your other post before the ep aired and it quite frankly terrified me :p. I might have been a wee bit overinvested in K/B back when I still watched - before I quit, Kurt and K/B were the sole reasons I kept tuning in.

Ok so since you're asking me, I'd say that, yes, the episode is worth watching. But I don't have the same background as you seem to have in that I have no resentment towards the show at all, know what I mean? I don't know if you'll end up enjoying it or not for those reasons.

But I can reassure you, at least; Kurt and Blaine do not break up at the end of the episode. I don't know what the authors have in store for them but, right now, Kurt and Blaine are still very much in love and have every intention of making it work.

What I enjoyed with the episode is that they - finally, I'd been waiting for that kind of talk, to be honest - address the big changes that Kurt and Blaine's lives are about to go through. And I that thought they dealt with it very well. Now, I can't speak for anyone else, of course.

If you do watch it, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on the episode :-)

Well, my resentment is mostly aimed at things that have nothing to do with Kurt or K/B (aside from them not being given equal treatment at times, which frustrated me a whole lot), so if I do watch it, I'll probably skip all the non-K/B or Kurt scenes :p (that's how I watched "Yes/No" too, and "Michael" was the last ep I actually watched in full since I'm a huge MJ fan :)).

Very happy to hear they didn't break up, since I assumed that was inevitable. Also pleased to hear they got into a fight cause Chris and Darren bring great chemistry to the more intense scenes (I loved their fight in "The First Time" too, wonderfully done). Also glad to hear they're dealing with the changes! I think I'll grab this ep when I come home from work tomorrow, I miss my favorite OTP a whole lot, to be honest :p.

I can see why you'd like to skip the non-Kurt or K/B scenes, then. Hopefully you'll find the ones in "Dance with Somebody" to your liking! I've watched them several times myself ;-)

I was worried they'd break up too! I mean, it did look inevitable. And we're not out of the woods yet, I guess, they'll have to see whether a long-distance relationship work for them or not, once they're actually living it, but I'm crossing my fingers. Real tight!

We don't get the ep until tonight but I read anyway because I'm curious.

It's nice to see Glee squee, though I tend to get it weekly via Sperrywink. And yeah, Burt is an amazing dad.

I might have downloaded the episode at work yesterday, so that I didn't have to wait once I was back home *cough*

Sperrywink's LJ will be visited later on, I'd like to see what she thought of the episode.

It doesn't have anything to do with anything but someone on my professional TL uses the same icon as you use on your Twitter (and which you're using here, which is why I'm thinking about it) and it's Very Confusing because whenever they tweet I expect them to be you and then there is lack of slash and kinky talks and I'm like "wtf"? Then I remember I'm actually reading my work TL and it's a bit sad. The end.

I really didn't like how Glee handled certain things and some of the plots were just so mindblowingly stupid that eventually, my dislike of the show became greater than my love for Chris Colfer, so I quit :p.

I still haven't decided if I'm going to watch it yet - your comments make me want to grab it, but I read some other comments on [livejournal.com profile] kurt_blaine that make me go -_- all over again, so I'm still on the fence. Think I'll sleep on it tonight :)

So Kurt is definitely going to NYC then, if they're gonna try make a long-distance thing work? That's cool :D. I do know that I'm definitely not watching s4 (nothing I heard about it before I quit sounded even remotely appealing), but I might keep tabs on the fandom. I do miss the fandom a lot, K/B became one of my favorite OTPs almost overnight and I miss sharing the love with the tumblr crowd.

It was an absolutely fantastic episode. And yes ALL THE FEELINGS. OMG. I'm so invested in Kurt/Blaine and I was so upset that it looked like they might break up.

I thought no one would ever beat Keith Mars for best TV dad ever and then Glee gave us Burt. Such an amazing father and the scripts that they've given us for all of the Kurt and his dad stuff have been so brilliant.

I was so frustrated yesterday because This damn app wouldn't work and I couldn't check your squee when you said you'd posted it, so I'm making up for that today. :-D

EVERYTHING YOU SAID AND MORE WITH ADDED TEARS. My bro laughed at me when I told him about that, and my one colleague who follows my instagram asked me "did they screw or what? You looked like you were crying happy tears, I assumed there was a sex scene."

I finished cleaning up my screencaps yesterday ( finally! ) so I'll be uploading those and making more Blaine icons this weekend. You want I make you one just for you?

Good thing the app works today, then! It's not buddies cutting you off of LJ!

Lol Love your colleague's comment. That was a good deduction to make, even though it turned out not to be the case.

I'd love to have an icon just for me but I don't want know which one I'd want! I think I'll wait to see what icons you've made and ask for one after that? You're going to make icons of dark-suit!Blaine, are you?

Ever since the NYADA storyline, I've been worried they'd break up too. I mean, we all know what happens with high school sweethearts most of the time and usually college life gets in the way. Especially when one of them is left behind. Especially when the one left behind is still in high school.

We're not out of the woods yet, I guess, but at least they've talked and they've decided to make it work so we're ok for now.

Keith Mars! You're right, he's definitely one of the Greatest tv!Dads. But Burt... Burt is just amazing. I'm so glad the writers gave us Burt ♥

You're still on the fence! Dilemma, dilemma. A good night sleep should help, yes. Though maybe download the ep, start watching and then see whether it's what you were hoping or, on the contrary, exactly what you were afraid of? That way you'll know for sure.

Well, I don't know how it works, exactly, because they're supposed to have one final audition before getting into the school? And everything could happen, then, I guess but, yes, he's definitely supposed to go. He's started packing, even. Or "triaging" his stuff in order to pack.

nothing I heard about it before I quit sounded even remotely appealing

Oh, could you tell me what you've heard? Because I've only recently gotten into s3 - as you may have noticed - and I haven't read anything about next season. I keep wondering how the hell they're going to deal with having half the cast off McKinley. And off Ohio.

From: [identity profile] fraught.livejournal.com
I've decided not to watch it, unfortunately. Friends of mine who have seen it told me not to, they didn't seem pleased and we have similar views on the show, so. I'm glad you liked it, though, and aren't (yet :p) a bitter (former) Glee viewer.

Gotta say I do find the idea of Kurt and Blaine apart, even while still in a long-distance relationship, fairly depressing and not really something I'm interested in watching ultimately.

What I've heard about s4 so far is - and keep in mind that this IS Glee and the writers change their minds every three minutes and also showrunner Ryan Murphy sits atop a throne of lies - something about Kurt and Rachel and whoever else graduates McKinley going to be on a reality show of some kind (? don't ask me for details, I don't have them, and I heard this news back in January so it's probably way out-dated and possibly already scrapped) which in some way keeps them tied to McKinley. It's basically going to be two shows in one; one show focused on the people who stay behind at McK and one focusing on the people in NYC, if they're still gonna go there.

And I hope you like Sebastian because last I heard, the actor was going to be a regular in s4. I don't like the character and I think the actor is awful, awful, awful, so that was not a positive for me either :p.

Again, none of this is set in stone and the writers are probably not even going to begin writing 4x01 until like three weeks before it's due to air, as per usual.

Oh, and another quick question: did they kiss?

Date: 2012-04-27 04:19 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com
You've decided, then :-)

S4 sounds like it's going to be odd. I hope I'll be able to get into the new storyline because I'd hate to leave Blaine behind! *clings* We'll see, anyway. S3 isn't over yet so one thing at a time.

I happen to like Sebastian in the sense that he's tied to Blaine... Can you see a theme, here? lol I had no idea they meant to make him a regular, though, that's a surprise.

Sounds like they're doing everything to keep you from going back to the show, though! That sucks.

Ok, I have the feeling my answer is going to piss you off lol No, they don't. The one time their scene together could have ended in a passionate kiss, they're actually in Emma's office, with Emma sitting at the desk, so they hug (after an emotional moment for them) but they do not kiss. Sadly.

Oh yeah, so many things can still happen in s3. I don't know which # ep this way, but I'll bet you $1000 they haven't even begun writing the finale yet :p.

I was actually one of the few people fairly excited about Sebastian coming on the show - anything to shake up K/B a little, and at the time there was a lot of criticism going around that they were only together because they were the only gay guys in the area, and I was hoping Sebastian would drive the point home that no, they're together because they love each other. Ah, I had such hopes and dreams :p - but I thought the actor was a black of hole of charm and charisma and the character skeevy bordering on creepy (not interested means not interested, dude), and that was long before he put Blaine in the hospital.

I dunno if he'll actually be around for s4, though. Back when the news was first leaked/announced (can't remember the exact circumstances), there was a fair amount of backlash against the idea. I think they were hoping Sebastian/the actor was going to make as big a splash as Blaine/Darren Criss did at the time, but uh, not really :s. I dunno how they thought to accomplish it; putting your new shiny straight in the middle of one of the show's most popular pairings wouldn't be my first choice :p.

Sounds like they're doing everything to keep you from going back to the show, though! That sucks.

Hah! Sometimes it totally feels like that! :p They figured out what I'd love the most, and then they go and do the exact opposite. It's fine, though, plenty of other amazing shows I'm still watching :D

I love your twitter icon story *g*

I sometimes wonder about swapping out Pete. Especially when I am talking slash and kink. It doesn't seem a good match somehow. But, it's the icon I've had from the start and I'm old and set in my ways!
