Eeeek it's the 25th? And I'm 25 and not-married? Boy, I'm officially a Catherinette lol It's a good thing I don't work in a company or anything, or I could have been forced to wear one of those outrageous hats all day long *hides* I'll see today if some people think of calling me on it *g* But like I said it's not fair to celebrate this day with me for even if I were in a steady relationship, I wouldn't have been allowed to get married because hel-LO Lesbian here! So la Sainte Catherine shouldn't apply to me, so there! *nods firmly*

Oh, big kisses to yami_tai - it's always sweet to know someone misses you *g* And your mail really intrigued me, now I'm all bouncy about the 'surprise' *bouncing* See? lol

Something else I'm bouncy about is my Monstres et Merveilles [The Storyteller] DVD but I'm not a happy camper exactly, because said DVD still isn't in my hands, even though it was supposed to get home yesterday *pout*

And something that is nothing short of a miracle now... I wrote a ficlet for this week's challenge at sentinel_thurs! I did!! I had some time for myself yesterday before going out and I had this little idea and before I knew it, it was written *g* So technically, I should be finishing the new installment in my Night series and okay I still haven't - but! I still have a little Night offering because, see, this ficlet is actually set in this universe *preens*

It's a tradition that comes from the Middle Ages actually *g* Okay so at the time, women who were twenty-five years and who were still unmarried created or asked others to create for them beautiful and crazy hats which had to be green and yellow [they symbolised faith and knowledge] - then, women living in Paris were supposed to go to the Statue of Sainte Catherine and do something to her hat - okay so I'm not exactly a specialist, sorry lol.

Since Sainte Catherine is --among many things-- the saint patron of single women, they chose that day to celebrate women who aren't married but who want to be. By wearing the hats and 'praying' to Sainte Catherine, they're hoping to find a husband soon *g*

Now, this tradition is more fun than anything else but some people still celebrate it - well, it's really amusing all right to see those young women wearing those beautiful but totally wild and outrageous hats lol
