castalie: (Stock - Little things)

We've finally reached a most exciting time for me; September, the time of year when I can feel Autumn approaching, ever so slowly sometimes but surely nonetheless. I'm very attentive to all the signs that point to Autumn being soon at our doors: the weather getting crisper with each new morning, the days getting shorter with each new evening, the leaves turning colours, the sweaters coming back to the wardrobes, ankle-boots finding their ways back as well... and let's not forget Starbucks releasing its pumpkin spice latte ;)

Of course, September is also a busy month tv-wise and I'm quite excited to try some new shows or go back to some old(er) ones. So far I have my eyes on one show in particular which sounds pretty basic and cliched but which trailer caught me, hook line and sinker, namely The Prodigal Son. FBI setting, profiling work, smart characters with some special skills with some tortured past, family dynamics, dysfunctional father-son relationships... how many of my Kryptonite can a single show use, really? I also saw that season 2 of Titans has started and I quite enjoyed the first one so I'll tune in. I'm still behind Mindhunter, though, so I might get cracking on that one! To my defense, I got distracted by yet another show - I mean, story of our lives - although this one isn't new. After hearing one mention too many of Years and Years in my podcasts, I decided to give it a go. Watched it in two seatings, it was so good. Ever so clever although definitely depressing, disturbing and anxiety-inducing. Still very good though! But not the type of show you'd want to sit down and watch if you've had a bad day and wanted some escapism.

I'm sure I will find other shows to watch here and there (and then get behind). The first big tv excitement I had recently happened when I saw the first pictures taken on the set of Endeavour series 7 and, icing on the already delicious cake, the news that a series 8 had already been commissioned! Be still, my heart ♥

I'm having a bit of a late and almost lazy start today. There's the first strike of the year - I mean, I'm sure many more will come, that's also French Autumn for you - and it should make things a bit chaotic in Paris. For once, though, miracle of miracles, my line shouldn't be impacted (it's not the same company that is going on strike). I'm still predicting quite a lot people all around so I'm trying to avoid the crowd as best as I can. My plan for the day includes a drink with a friend after work but we'll see how it goes since it will be chaos in the Parisian metro today. I might get back home earlier than I thought. Quel suspense!

Ok, sending this now. Have a nice day, flist!
