Matin d'automne (enfin presque)

I don't exactly know why but those past months I haven't been able to lie in anymore. Or very rarely (case in point, I woke up at 9.30AM yesterday and I was very pleasantly surprised. I couldn't even tell you when was the last time it happened...). So, I woke up around my usual time this morning ie. circa 7.45AM and while I was making myself a cup of tea I had a sudden craving for a pain au chocolat and a croissant. We don't do that often but every now and then, we treat ourselves with viennoiseries so I slipped into a pair of shorts and a tank top (the only item of clothing I had at hands as I didn't want to go to the bedroom and wake up Cookie who was - is - still sleeping) and sandals because I was too lazy to even think of putting on sneakers and off I went.
It was chilly! (This is the point I meant to make, I had to put things into context first, sorry lol) It was wonderfully chilly. It was so peaceful too: I love Sunday mornings... there's almost no-one around, very few cars, it's so quiet. With the sun already shining and the crispy air, it was near perfect! You can already feel autumn in the air. At least, in the morning. The rest of the day is definitely another story. Case in point, we're expecting a temperature of 29°C today and 36°C tomorrow (argh!) but the morning coolness gives me hope that Summer is on its last legs... Soon (I hope), the leaves will be turning and the weather will get cooler and stay that way throughout the whole day. I can't wait :)
Anyway... that was a lovely start of the day for a lovely weekend, so far. Yesterday Cookie and I attended an Art History class (it's a five-week "program" - I use the term loosely - meant for people who just want to know a little more about the subject, there is no diploma at the end or anything). It was pretty chill and very interesting, I really enjoyed it. Funny story, the first class was held at the Musée de l'Armée (Army museum) where I've been wanting to go to do some research for a TOG fic that I've been writing. I thought it was fate ;) Today will be lunch at my parents' with my godfather and aunt so it'll be super chill as well.
I hope you're having a lovely weekend as well, flist. And I hope you're all well.
