Locke is trying to win people to his sides. Although he succeeded with Charlie and Walt and Boone, I think he's having a hard time to get to the others. Like Sawyerm who's suspicious of anyone so that's a a hard one to crack. That's why he was somehow pushing Sayid to kill him. Which was the mistake he made with Sayid. Or was it a mistake? I mean, Sawyer got hurt and Sayid's gone. Maybe, the point was to get rid of someone, whether it be Sawyer or Sayid.
Kate is another one, who's not easily swayed. Also, Jack. I guess, if this series goes all Lords of the Flies on us, it'll be Locke, Boone, Charlie & Walt on one side, and it'll be Sawyer, Kate, Sayid, and Jack on another.
