Let's shake some dust!

Well well... who would have thought that my university had such a beautiful computer lab - several of them, even? Am so in love with it *cling* Okay so huh - Clark is dead. As in dead. Apparently the cure demanded that they killed my baby so, well, they did. At this point, I didn't want to know more about the situation, so yeah *sigh*

Also, started to officially miss my LJ you guys today so I hunted aforementioned computer lab --this uni is quite huge, I never realised *blink*-- but it was worth it because look at me! Updating and everything *waves*

In order to prove to you that it is me updating and not someone who would have hacked my account, I'll write a quick fannish post starting with : I found a new show to worship and follow religiously.

So. I found a new show to worship and follow religiously *beams*

And I know it should make both [livejournal.com profile] aswanargent and [livejournal.com profile] crazybutsound real happy cause as of this weekend/today, I'm officially a Carnivàle fan, yes ma'am!

When I was told that I should give the series another try and not let the pilot scare me away? You were all so right, wow! I actually watched 10 episodes so far, I think I only have two left, is that it? OMG I need the second season, like, NOW!

So yeah, [livejournal.com profile] crazybutsound, if you read this? Your Carnivàle S1 pressie was a streak of genius and I'm crazy about it *g*

Can't really write more cause did I mention I was at the uni? And I just don't feel comfortable enough prowling LJ when I'm not at home --though if Clark stays dead for too long, I might change my view on this-- but suffice to say that it's awesome and one of the most intriguing show I've ever seen, yeah even more than Lost, I mean... it's just so totally different, like another league or something and it's just WOW material *g*

ETA: Ooh apparently I lied to myself. Or I recovered from the shyness in record time. Methinks I'll prowl the flist after all - cause I miss commenting here and there *nodnod*

what's Carnivale?

and cheers to computer labs!

Hope you don't mind me butting in...

http://www.hbo.com/carnivale/about/index.shtml

I've never seen it, as I don't get HBO either, but if the Mouse is obsessed by it, it's best to familiarize oneself with it. *g*

[identity profile] babycakesin.livejournal.com 2005-03-01 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
lol - yeah, I think it might be wise to get to know the show *giggles*

*waves* hi, nice to meet you btw *g*

[identity profile] maaaaa.livejournal.com 2005-03-01 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
One can't read the Mouse's lj without hearing all about her wonderful babycakes; nice to meet you too. *g*

[identity profile] babycakesin.livejournal.com 2005-03-01 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
*beams* I should definitely
a) spend more time in here, since people seem to know me quite well
b) prevent people from finding out what a spinner I can be sometimes *giggles*

[identity profile] maaaaa.livejournal.com 2005-03-01 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
a) ...and would only like to get to know you better
b) ...I'm a spinner too. but I suspect by the giggle that we're not referring to the same thing. ??

[identity profile] babycakesin.livejournal.com 2005-03-01 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
a) *le grin*

b) 'spinner' is a new word I learned down here, and it means 'flaky' - Phoebe, in Friends, is a spinner for example (at least that's how my flatmates put it lol)

[identity profile] maaaaa.livejournal.com 2005-03-02 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Okay...I 'spin' stories...as in fanfic & Jim-spanks-Blair-for-Mouse...*g*...and I also spin wool, on a spinning wheel. But I think some people would agree that I meet this definition too. By 'down here' where do you mean exactly? My daughter lived in Australia for about 6 months a few years ago, but I never heard her use spinner to describe anyone.

[identity profile] babycakesin.livejournal.com 2005-03-02 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
okay, I understand now *giggles*

I'm in New Zealand at the moment - and learning their slang is so funny! I've been here since January 10th ^^

[identity profile] maaaaa.livejournal.com 2005-03-02 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
...you're still giggling. *g*

My daughter also had great fun learning the down under slang. Are you going to school there? Stay safe and have fun!

[identity profile] babycakesin.livejournal.com 2005-03-02 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
unfortunately, I giggle way too much - and mostly for no reason at all lol

I'm down here to work - I teach French as a foreign language, I have a few classes here and there, mostly at the university of Wellington. I adore it here! Honestly, it's fantastic! People are so nice, and the city itself is beautiful, and the surroundings... *clears throat* yeah, see, don't get me started on how much I love New Zealand lol So far I have a visa for a year, but I'm really hoping I'll be able to extend it and stay a few years! :D

Where in Australia was your daughter?

[identity profile] maaaaa.livejournal.com 2005-03-02 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Naw...don't be silly. How can anyone giggle too much?

How exciting for you! Good luck with the visa extension. I hope it works out for you.

My daughter lived & went to school for a semester in Sydney & did alot of traveling while in Australia...Brisbane, Ayers Rock, the Great Barrier Reef, etc. She spent 3 weeks in NZ before coming back to the States and she loved it...said it was absolutely gorgeous. She wants to go back someday when she can spend more time.

[identity profile] babycakesin.livejournal.com 2005-03-02 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
well, tell her to drop by if she fancies coming to Wellington! I can't wait to start travelling around the country... :D

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2005-03-01 02:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Nice to see someone helped Babycakes *g*

And I guess you're right, better familiarise yourself at least a little bit with the thing lol

[identity profile] maaaaa.livejournal.com 2005-03-02 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
My pleasure, Master. *g* LOL

And I'm about as familiar as I'm probably gonna get with your new obsession. But I see your flist has plenty-o-Carnivale fans to fuel your obsessiveness.

[identity profile] babycakesin.livejournal.com 2005-03-02 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
yes love, people on your flist are so helpful! It's great to come here and ask questions, there are always tons of people volunteering to help!

anyway: I just received a mail from a friend in Texas: 'we missed the Oscars because we were so focused on not missing Carnivale - have you heard about it?'

humpff... so now I'm downloading an episode *giggles*

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2005-03-02 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Do I have the best timing or what? lol

If you did download and watch an episode --and better start with the pilot or else you'll miss a hundred of things-- do tell me what you thought of it, I'm curious *g*

[identity profile] babycakesin.livejournal.com 2005-03-02 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm 92% *g*

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2005-03-01 02:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Carnivàle : Carnivàle follows the travels of a roving carnival during the 1930's Dust Bowl. This group of odd characters pick up a mysterious young man who becomes the focus in a battle between good and evil.

It's intriguing and quite powerful as series go... it's not for everyone, like my mom and sis? Were disturbed by the tone of the story and couldn't watch it. It's quite peculiar, as they say, but I'm hooked *g*

[identity profile] babycakesin.livejournal.com 2005-03-01 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
mmmm... might download a couple of episodes then!
