Well well... who would have thought that my university had such a beautiful computer lab - several of them, even? Am so in love with it *cling* Okay so huh - Clark is dead. As in dead. Apparently the cure demanded that they killed my baby so, well, they did. At this point, I didn't want to know more about the situation, so yeah *sigh*

Also, started to officially miss my LJ you guys today so I hunted aforementioned computer lab --this uni is quite huge, I never realised *blink*-- but it was worth it because look at me! Updating and everything *waves*

In order to prove to you that it is me updating and not someone who would have hacked my account, I'll write a quick fannish post starting with : I found a new show to worship and follow religiously.

So. I found a new show to worship and follow religiously *beams*

And I know it should make both [livejournal.com profile] aswanargent and [livejournal.com profile] crazybutsound real happy cause as of this weekend/today, I'm officially a Carnivàle fan, yes ma'am!

When I was told that I should give the series another try and not let the pilot scare me away? You were all so right, wow! I actually watched 10 episodes so far, I think I only have two left, is that it? OMG I need the second season, like, NOW!

So yeah, [livejournal.com profile] crazybutsound, if you read this? Your Carnivàle S1 pressie was a streak of genius and I'm crazy about it *g*

Can't really write more cause did I mention I was at the uni? And I just don't feel comfortable enough prowling LJ when I'm not at home --though if Clark stays dead for too long, I might change my view on this-- but suffice to say that it's awesome and one of the most intriguing show I've ever seen, yeah even more than Lost, I mean... it's just so totally different, like another league or something and it's just WOW material *g*

ETA: Ooh apparently I lied to myself. Or I recovered from the shyness in record time. Methinks I'll prowl the flist after all - cause I miss commenting here and there *nodnod*

Hey we went in an Angel frenzy practically at the same time, it would be quite cool if you followed me in Carnivàle as well *g*

Heh. I've been in the computer lab since 1:00 surfing LJ. (class is cancelled, should be writing fic)

So, does this mean you can't watch Lost?

The computer labs around here are soon becoming my new home away from home lol

And except for a miracle, I don't think I'll be able to watch Lost on Thursday, nor could I was Numb3rs either *sob*

Oh well, it's one of those ordeals one net junkie has to go through now and then, I guess lol It's not as if it was the first time either *sigh* Clark died once, for a whole month and a half, I just hope he'll come back to life sooner this time *crosses fingers*

*hugs* Welcome back!

In case you missed my big news, I'll be in France sooner than I had originally anticipated. I'll be studying in Nancy this next school year! So we'll have to make a date sometime and hang out. :)

From: [identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com
I can't say I'm back back but yeah, being able to update is quite an accomplishment this week *g*

And I totally missed that, sorry. Congratulations! And Nancy, huh? Well, it's so not in the vicinity of Choisy, but hopefully we'll find a way. I mean, you'll have to come at least once in Paris for a weekend or something, right? *g*

It can't be more than 2 hours by the way it looks on the map. And from being from Northern Wisconsin, where I have to travel hours to get anywhere, I'm sure a trip to Paris won't be a problem. Remember, the university I go to is 4 hours away from my hometown. Traveling isn't a problem. ;) You Europeans...*shakes head* :P *hugs*

It's so good to be missed!! Btw? I have your BD - I need your snail mail now, so if you could mail it to me? Hopefully I'll find the time to use the computer lab again on Friday again --won't have time eithe tomorrow or Thursday-- and I'll be able to send the BD to you *g* Unless you read this within the hour and give it to me by then, mind you *g* I have a class at 4.00 pm so I'm hanging around here til 3.45 *g*

Okay, I won't tell you lol Actually, you're saved from the Immediate Pimping considering my situation - aren't you glad *eg* And I expect to be pimped by you as well, remember?

From: [identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com
As I was saying to someone above, the computer labs are soon becoming my home away from home lol

And Carnivàle is a very particular and sometime disturbing series where you follow the travels of a roving carnival during the 1930's Dust Bowl. This group of odd characters pick up a mysterious young man who becomes the focus in a battle between good and evil. There're secrets and secrets within secrets and people with powerful and sometimes scary abilities... it's quite a ride, that show is *g*

The characters are all fascinating and the story is just... intriguing like a show seldom is.

Yay! I knew it! *is proud enabler* That is so cool! You know you're actually further than I am? I'm only on episode 5, and since [livejournal.com profile] aswanargent sent me the actual DVDs, I'm going to start over again before watching the rest. :-D But isn't it fantastic? It's very slow which is why I thought it needed time, but once you're into it... it's such a brilliant, brilliant show. :-) So glad you're enjoying it, yay!

b) ...I'm a spinner too. but I suspect by the giggle that we're not referring to the same thing. ??

From: [identity profile] babycakesin.livejournal.com
a) *le grin*

b) 'spinner' is a new word I learned down here, and it means 'flaky' - Phoebe, in Friends, is a spinner for example (at least that's how my flatmates put it lol)

Date: 2005-03-02 01:22 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] maaaaa.livejournal.com
Okay...I 'spin' stories...as in fanfic & Jim-spanks-Blair-for-Mouse...*g*...and I also spin wool, on a spinning wheel. But I think some people would agree that I meet this definition too. By 'down here' where do you mean exactly? My daughter lived in Australia for about 6 months a few years ago, but I never heard her use spinner to describe anyone.

unfortunately, I giggle way too much - and mostly for no reason at all lol

I'm down here to work - I teach French as a foreign language, I have a few classes here and there, mostly at the university of Wellington. I adore it here! Honestly, it's fantastic! People are so nice, and the city itself is beautiful, and the surroundings... *clears throat* yeah, see, don't get me started on how much I love New Zealand lol So far I have a visa for a year, but I'm really hoping I'll be able to extend it and stay a few years! :D

Where in Australia was your daughter?

Naw...don't be silly. How can anyone giggle too much?

How exciting for you! Good luck with the visa extension. I hope it works out for you.

My daughter lived & went to school for a semester in Sydney & did alot of traveling while in Australia...Brisbane, Ayers Rock, the Great Barrier Reef, etc. She spent 3 weeks in NZ before coming back to the States and she loved it...said it was absolutely gorgeous. She wants to go back someday when she can spend more time.

yes love, people on your flist are so helpful! It's great to come here and ask questions, there are always tons of people volunteering to help!

anyway: I just received a mail from a friend in Texas: 'we missed the Oscars because we were so focused on not missing Carnivale - have you heard about it?'

It's intriguing and quite powerful as series go... it's not for everyone, like my mom and sis? Were disturbed by the tone of the story and couldn't watch it. It's quite peculiar, as they say, but I'm hooked *g*

Hah! I knew you'd like it once you gave it a chance! *VERY BIG SMILE*

Just so you know, I'm in the same waiting-for-Season-2 boat as you are. Season 2 is being shown on HBO right now (my sister is watching it), but I won't get to see it until the season ends and the DVDs are released. If you end up being able to download episodes of Season 2 and watch it that way, I don't even want to know about it. ;-)

*now observing a moment of silence for Clark*

Does Clark's death mean you won't be able to watch Lost?

At this point, I don't even know when I'll have Clark back so there's no way I could find a way to d/l the episodes, don't worry lol And anyway, I always use cut tags when I'm talking about a series *g*

That's exactly what it means *sigh*
