Dude. That's all I've got.

I'd like to put an APB on my lost!obsession. It disappeared - I have no idea where it went, but one thing is sure, I - excuse the lame pun - lost it.

It was so sad, here I was - finally - watching a new episode in that series that I've literally worshipped for twenty episodes... and nothing! Or well, not 100% nothing, but mostly nothing. It was so wrong, I didn't like it at all - the feeling, I mean, cause the episode? I didn't care.

I started feeling something when they were all gathered for Boone's funeral, but barely. It just didn't make me feel anything So even then, it didn't last. If I had to sum up my feelings for the major storyline, it would be: blah. I'm not even saying the episode sucked, btw, just... I wasn't really there with it *shrug* Oh except I was right when I said Locke was the one who had whacked Sayid - not for the right reasons though, but whatever, I was right. So thanks. I suppose?

I did find something of interest though - can someone guess? *g* So. The only thing that totally had me squeeing and bouncing was the whole Charlie-with-screaming-baby thing because his scenes with a) Hurley and b) Sawyer were the best ever! But cutest of the cutest, the moment that made me laugh and bounce on my seat was when Charlie realised the secret power of Sawyer's voice and he, I don't know, scampered? after Sawyer - oh man, that was priceless! I may never recover from that scene - the cuteness of it, the CUTENESS of it *happy sigh* Scene that was closely followed by the one when Hurley starts to sing of course, because OMG the love! And technically, I know that it was actually pretty stereotypical, you know, the whole Tough and Pseudo Bad Boy is the only one to be able to soothe the baby but man, I didn't care because it was C.U.T.E. Oh and no wait, I enjoyed two others things too: a) Jack's breakdown. Man he looked so fucking sick and damaged and he still screams so good, I loved that and b) Jin's little moment because I fucking love Jin. Oh and Sun too - so make that three things *g*

I'll download the next episodes because there's no way I'm going to stop now and I just hope I'll get into it by then, but man... there's something wrong going on right now *narrows eyes*

Speaking of download... Firefly? Is still frozen. I'm sorta kinda starting to lose hope, I'm just sayin'.

Changing the subject now. I mean, completely. So I was watching CSI last night and ohh in the first episode there was Skaara Alexis Cruz and in the second one Jake Foley Christopher Gorham - I love it so much when shows collide. It also reminded me of how much I love Jake 2.0 and it made me all nostalgic - when is M6 going to do a rerun, man? I'd really like my geeky show back *sigh*

I'm over Lost. I'm just not as awed by the whole thing as I once was when Lost was starting. This also happened with another JJ Abrams series, Alias. I just feel out of love. Funny thing, the only JJ Abrams that I totally loved, despite suckage at various points, was Felicity.

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2005-05-05 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Not this time, it was weird but this episode just... didn't grab me. At all. Man, I was thinking of doing something else while I watched it, it was that bad lol I'll have to go and read my flist to see what they thought of it, but I'm not even sure I saw so many Lost posts.

Episode for recent shows are easy to grab and the download doesn't take that long but when you find old shows you'll end up with like one seeder and then... well that's when it starts to be difficult. Case in point *sigh*

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2005-05-05 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
That's how I read it, no worries *g*

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2005-05-05 01:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm hoping I'm not really over it and it's just... a phase? lol Thing is, I haven't been excited about Lost since it went on that umpteenth hiatus but I seriously thought I would fall in love with it all over again as soon as the first image would appear, you know? Then it started and just... nothing.

I really don't understand to tell the truth cause I was still hooked on it for episode 20 so what the hell happened? Not that it's actually important, like, hi, it's just a show, but I never fall out of love like this so yeah, I'm quite curious.

Can't talk about Alias because that show bored me from the start - that is, there was this moment when I thought I would get into it then after around three episode I realised it was just a fluke lol

I don;t know about you but one of the reasons why it sucks for me is the fact that I have a feeling that I'm being duped somehow. That it's not as awesome that we all think and that I mistake brilliance for smoke and mirrors.

I doubt this is true but maybe Lost is suffering from being less shiny against new shows? I know you have an ability to add more and more obsessions but when they're side by side, like Numb3rs and Lost are right now, Lost may be shadowed by the other.

Or I could be totally wrong which I wouldn't be surprised about *g*

I was thinking of doing something else while I watched it

Not to gloat (Heaven forbid...), but now you understand poor "philistine" me, even just a little, tiny bit? :D

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2005-05-05 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
That's actually quite an interesting theory. I hope it won't come to that *pout* Well, I just need to wait until next week to know now *g*

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2005-05-05 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah no, it's not that. Even side by side and even if one show happens to be above the other at the time - and here Numb3rs would be on top of Lost, admittedly - I never lose interest for one of the two and I never, just, stop enjoying the show, know what I mean? Here it was as if I couldn't wait for the episode to end so that I could go and do something else *facepalm* I couldn't stop because man! You just don't stop watching Lost, no matter what, after all, you never know what incredibke tidbit of information you can hear about but seriously, my mind was wandering elsewhere. That episode? Is like a mystery to me *blink*

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2005-05-05 02:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry for spoiling your ungloating but no, it can't compare because see for now, it's like a weird accident of some sorts... I have twenty episodes of worship behind me, we don't compare *looks smug* But if by the very last part of the season finale, I'm still thinking like that, I may end up understand you a little. So there's still hope for your gloating *pets you*

I tried watching Lost a couple of times and I just never got it. I can't figure out why people love this show so much, it's just beyond me.

As far as Alias goes I love it. The reason I love it though is Spydaddy. Without Victor Garber as Jack I doubt I'd keep watching. But Jack is just such a fantastically complicated, flawed, beautiful, fucked up character! I could do a whole entry I think on why Jack is the greatest character who ever existed. Anyway if you only have seen season 4 you haven't seen Alias at it's best. Seasons 1 and 2 were the shit! Season 3 was shit and season 4 is somewhere in between. *L*

I can't figure out why people love this show so much, it's just beyond me.

I know what you mean, except I'm thinking of Alias here *g* Well no, I always understand how someone can love something that I don't, but you know what I mean. I tried at various seasons of the show and just never got into it - like, everyone was raving about it and it just... bored me to death.

Also, do I take it Jack is your favourite character then? lol So remember the Guess My Favourite Characters? I'm playing here and saying Jack... is that it?

It's sad that you're not so much into Lost anymore! *pouts*
I was bouncy the whole afternoon while Lost was downloading!
I absolutely loved the scene with the baby and Charlie! I love Charlie nayway; he's just so cute...
And if I were at the baby's place I would stop crying too, just to hear Sawyer's voice better! *g* His voice gives me shivers...

[identity profile] aswanargent.livejournal.com 2005-05-05 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Mouse, I think it was just the episode. Remember I said yesterday that I was glad because we were finally going to find out what brought Sayid to Australia? Well, this backstory was just ... stupid ... and I didn't buy the government connection or the infiltration plot one little bit. (Maybe because I've seen it done much, much better on a British show called "MI-5" -- the U.S. title; the British title is "Spooks".) So come back next week (the raft, and Kate and her little plane); then a 3-hour season finale (one hour to be shown on May 18th, and two hours to be shown on May 25th.

But Charlie and Hurley and Sawyer and the baby ("Turniphead" indeed; I think Dom's channeling The Shire here *g*) -- loved it!

[identity profile] aswanargent.livejournal.com 2005-05-05 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Sawyer has a gorgeous voice. It's just not going to be the same when the show gets broadcast on French television with dubbed voices.

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2005-05-05 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
No no, I never said I wasn't into Lost anymore *wide eyes* I just said this episode didn't rock my world even a tiny bit - I've been following and worshipping that show for so long, I'm not giving up on it *shakes head*

That scene was so bloody awesome, wasn't it? Man, I loved it *g* And yeah, I know the feeling, Charlie is my fave in Lost, has been from the very first episode *g*

[identity profile] moimoietmoi.livejournal.com 2005-05-05 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's going to be so weird! I'm not sure I'll watch it; maybe just the first episodes to see the differences between the two versions.

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2005-05-05 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes and no. It won't be the same, of course, but they usually know how to pick the right voices and they usually do a great job with it - so we'll lose all the accents, which is a tragedy, but I'm not that worried about the voices cause most of the time, they do it right.

[identity profile] moimoietmoi.livejournal.com 2005-05-05 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
lol
Good! I would've been very disappointed! *g*

[identity profile] aswanargent.livejournal.com 2005-05-05 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, my French friends tell me that at least they won't have to cringe any more over Danielle's faux-French accent, so that's one good thing. *g*

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2005-05-05 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Mouse, I think it was just the episode.

I'm believing you here, mate, cause I just can't accept that I'd fall out of love with something like that. That just never happened... which I know, theoretically, doesn't mean it couldn't but still.

I'll be back next week, you can count on me, I mean... I'm trusting Lost to rock my world again *g*

Also when they say three hours, what do they mean exactly? Because American PTB tell you that their show last 60 minutes - that's how they say it on official sites - but in truth, it doesn't. It usually doesn't even last 45 minutes, more like between 42 and 45, and the endless commercials breaks fill the twenty minutes - so are aforementioned three hours American or normal? *g*

And that scene was just so adorable that... words don't do it justice! Also 'turniphead'? That's how he called the baby? Thanks! I couldn't understand what he's said exactly *g*

Hey they're airing MI:5 on Canal+, I just remembered after reading your comment, thanks for the reminder lol

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2005-05-05 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I think I'll watch it in French cause I won't be able to resist Lost being right here on my telly, know what I mean? lol Though I'm quite worried about the whole French storyline cause how the hell are they going to work around that? Like, they'll make Danielle a German, maybe *snicker*

[identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com 2005-05-05 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
And talk about irony too - you, just getting into it and me, leaving the scene. No, just no *clings*
