The Day After

Had a wonderful Christmas Eve - yet again *g* We wennt to my granddad's in the afternoon where we were joined by my godfather, aunt and cousins. We watched some Christmas movies as is tradition, played some crazed board games as is tradition too, then we all prepared dinner in what could have been considered pure madness but hey, everyone knew what they were doing, promise, so madness it wasn't... or just a little bit lol Then once our oh so tasty Christmas dinner was ready, we all dressed up and started to eat... much fun was had, way too much food was eaten and before we knew it, it was midnight and presents' time - woohoo lol
There was this odd feeling though, due to my granddad's health, but we did have him for most of the day with us, so we savoured his presence while he was feeling well enough - he's coming over this afternoon for a couple of hours as well, so it's another little gift he's giving us because he's real tired these days and just never ever leaves the house, but he wanted to spend the 25th with us - or the afternoon at least, so it made us quite happy *g*
Now on a more material note, we got spoilt again and I now finally have in my possession RoTK:EE, YAY! I was almost obsessing about that pressie, I swear and I squeed when I unwrapped the present and saw what it was *g* I also have Love Actually now and I foresee a lot of work for this DVD because I fell in love with that movie when I saw it, so this is another hit *g* I got some other DVDs as well [Legally Blonde and its sequel, Eli Semoun à l'Olympia by The Sis and School Detectives by Henry] and a book [Nous les Dieux by Bernard Werber, one of my favourite authors of all time]. Oh and I got the cutest PJs ever! A Winnie the Pooh pyjamas which is just... too cute for words lol Don't think it's common knowledge around here, but Family and Friends all know I'm a huge Winnie the Pooh fan and I just adore my brand new jammies, which I'm still wearing btw *hugs self* Hey, I went to bed around 5.00/5.30 am, so I didn't get up that long ago, you know?
But somehow, what I was the most impatient about last night/this morning was to give my parents their presents because The Esu and I got them a DiVX player and I couldn't wait for them to see it lol We did surprise them, they so didn't expect that. The DVDs, shirt and bottles of wine were already a hit [hey, we work so hard in December for a reason] but it was nothing compared to the DivX player and man, it was so very lovely to see them blink at the big pressie.
Once we were back home - around 3.00 am or so - we installed the thing immediately and I was also able to finally give them the CDs I'd asked one of my uncles to secretly burn for me a couple of months ago in order to give them, namely Thierry la Fronde, which, I know, won't mean anything to you except for the French on my flist. Thierry la Fronde was a very popular series in the sixties (twas first aired in 1963) that my kiddie!parents followed religiously. So we spent the rest of the night watching their beloved series and it was just teh cute *g* And for the record, this is a good series alright. The Esu and I kept laughing because we couldn't help but have Les Inconnus's version in mind and they ruined the serious storyline for us, but once we tried to concentrate on the real show and not the parody, we could appreciate it *g* Also, the parental unit kept hitting us when we mocked their beloved characters and everything, so our shutting up it was a matter of survival lol.
Also, back to the player thing? Just the thought of watching Lost on a real TV with a real & big screen makes me want to squee and never stop! Can someone spell Lost Marathon? Cause I sure can! I'm grateful and quite delighted that the parental unit wished for something like that a couple of months ago, because now that we offered the thing, I'll be able to enjoy it as well lol
So today I'm going to kick in and relax and bask in the Christmas Eve afterglow, which is always pretty magical as well *g* My granddad will arrive later in the afternoon, then The Esu will follow and we'll have yet another Christmas meal *smacks lips* But in the meantime I'm going to watch some of my brand new DVDs - before that though, I'll go and OD on Oz slash because the stories have been released at
oz_magi and I can't miss that!
ETA: Squeee, they're airing The Dead Zone again!! Trilogie du Samedi, I may worship you once more lol
