Wait, I need to say something first: Happy Birthday to
anglepoiselamp. Hope you'll have a wonderful day, even if your Chi isn't here *pets you*
No Fair last night, but I still got ice-cream. Geek Night + Ice cream = a very happy Mouse.
So. I thought I would start replying to the questions I got and er, of course, my answers got longer than planned. I'm sorry, I tried to be concise... and this is what my mind apparently sees as concise *cough* Did I say I was sorry?
turps33: Blair. No, Daniel! No wait, Blair! Eeek no, Mulder? Damn, let me think, let me think... Yeah okay, I know. Blair. Because he does suffer beautifully and because he usually bottoms and that's important in my world, you know? And because there's no real hang up in this fandom about Jim going all possessive and protective on his sweet ass and calling him 'baby' or stuff and this is also something I adore - in particular when we're talking serious angst or h/c. With Daniel, I can't have all that because the SG fandom has Issues with Daniel-being-seen-as-weak-even-when-he's-not and I can't have all the slash components I do get with TS. And anyway, even if I were to do that? I'm sure I would still get Daniel now and then because, xover much? *g*
french_hobbit: Well if you were talking about this week's episode, I'll have to admit that I already saw the preview so I can't dream of anything per se, since I already know some stuff... but let's extrapolate and think of next-next week... and my reply will be: more Charlie - more Jack/Charlie and more Charlie-Hurley. OH! And for Rose to appear... just once! Even for just a second, but I fucking want to see Rose! As for plots in particular... more traumatised!Charlie? What? Of course it's a plot! And ultimately, I would love for one of the survivors to listen to False French Woman and suddenly go But... she's not French, guys. WTF? That would make me so very happy.
x5_536: Because you'll regret it all your life if you don't? Yeah okay, why would you regret it all your life if you didn't. Well, first, it makes math beautiful and it also makes you feel like you're uber-smart because you end up nodding at everything Charlie says as if you did understand everything he's rambling about, and you know, just for that it's worth giving it a try. Also because, see, it's not really a cop show per se, it's much more than that, it's a little gem hidden under the disguise of yet a new cop show. Because it has some kick-ass characters with some of the best interactions ever. Because the family dynamic is a joy to see. Because it mixes case scenes with domestic scenes in a beautiful way and because watching the Eppes family together is a sight to behold. Because it has geniuses who live in their heads and the glimpses you get into their world is fascinating. Because it has some awesome visual effects which makes the scenes and the explanations so much move lively and interesting. Because it's a smart show with endearing and loveable characters who all kick asses in their own way, and who wouldn't want that? Also, because if said characters are all brilliant on their own, once put together they're the best team in the world and you just don't want to miss a single episode because otherwise it makes you sad! Here's why.
babycakesin: Seriously? I have no idea. No, I'm not pulling a Daniel on you, but I just don't know lol I never know how to answer those questions because I can't really ever mix fictional characters with RL and stuff... and also because each time someone starts a question with 'desert island', I automatically start to think of ways to leave the island, which usually defeats the purpose of the question. So in the same vein, I'd say MacGyver cause he would know how to build a boat out of a coconut and we could go back home in no time, there *g*
tanacawyr: I know I already replied but for the sake of this meme and because I can play by the rules sometimes just not often I'll do it again. So. I'm so fucking excited about the prospect that I'm bouncing each time I just think of it *bounces* See?
And speaking of meme, you won't believe what I found via friendfriends surfing. A meme that was literally made for me and my flist.
1. What fandom/show of yours do you DESPERATELY wish to pimp to me, and why [There must be some left, right?]
2. What fandom/show of mine did you check out, simply due to my unending pimping of said fandom?
3. What fandom/show did I pimp to you once upon a time that you didn't give a damn about when I pimped it, yet now you cannot live without it.
No. Seriously, isn't it the kind of Fandom Meme that was meant for me? And incidentally, my flist? lol

Date: 2005-03-26 01:14 pm (UTC)For the more 'mainstream' stuff, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! Because Arthur and Ford go through many wacky and improbable adventures and it's one of the geek cult books of all the time, and it's funny as heck; and Ford/Arthur are rather easy to slash.
2. Well, duh *g*, that would be Numb3rs. You know the rest...
3. N/A - at least not yet...

Date: 2005-03-26 02:18 pm (UTC)I do like the book very much though, oddly enough, I never really thought of slashing Ford/Arthur. Might think of trying it again, just to see if I'd change my mind lol
2- Well duh indeed *g* I'm quite proud with that one cause I know for a fact that I contaminated like six people just via my entries. Not bad, considering.

Date: 2005-03-26 02:43 pm (UTC)Oh, and did you see my first Tracker pimping post? OK, it's as old as October, but still... :D I hunted for it through dozens of entries, because I forgot to put it in the memories... *facepalm*

Date: 2005-03-26 03:30 pm (UTC)And I'm fairly sure I don't remember that post, I guess I wasn't that receptive at the time *cough*

Date: 2005-03-26 01:23 pm (UTC)1. As if I could pimp something to you - everybody knows it works the other way around!
2. Lost!! it was you and GD, I remember :)
3. *blank* you'll just have to try harder ;op
no subject
Date: 2005-03-26 02:20 pm (UTC)1- Well admittedly, I'm usually the one doing the pimping though I like being pimped too. Cause it's always fun, either way *nodnod*
2- Ah ah, only the best for you, my dear *wink*
3- Try harder? Oh boy, do you think we'll all survive? lol
no subject
Date: 2005-03-27 09:10 am (UTC)lol in fact the effort should come from me, but i'm very much exclusive when it comes to fandom... you introduced me to Lost, which is already a good job ;o)

and this sounds nice too.
so now i'm excited! knowing myself, i could end up hating it or something but i so have something to look forward to :)

Date: 2005-03-26 09:17 pm (UTC)And yay to you at least trying the show! Sure, you may end up hating it, but at least, you're giving a try. I just love it myself, in case it wasn't obvious lol

Happily my day hasn't been entirely Chi-less, as she's been sending cryptic text messages on my cellphone. Apparently there is much Angels in America squeeage going on in Chi-land. :D

Date: 2005-03-26 10:13 pm (UTC)LOL! I know you probably didn't even realize it but I had to tease you a bit. I got a year older, gained a few more grey hairs and had a good day though. : )
Anyway the real reason I'm replying...oh so scary I know! : )
The meme is perfect. I also realize that I must visit here more often...hmm my mind is a jumbled mess I tell you those damned images of J/D in the midst of making out just are murder for my concentration! Damn! Anyways I had better let you go before I lose track of everything *eg* but I do promise to make an effort to post more often in your lovely LJ : D
Oh and yes I'll get those Hornblower recs for you I keep hearing about. Who knows maybe you'll find a few more to wet your appetite : D
no subject
Date: 2005-03-27 01:07 am (UTC)Your J/D making out idea sounds really cool to me, why don't you cave in? *eg*
No need to promise me anything, Stacy. People comment if/when they feel incline to, there's no obligation of any sorts, even from the friends *g*
I'm deep in Hornblower so I'll take everything you'll find. Everything *is hungry for more fics*

Date: 2005-03-28 12:46 am (UTC)I know RL has been a major killer for me lately and I think that's the general concensis (whoa that is so spelled wrong! sorry!). If it's any consolation no one else on my flist realized it either. Too much going on in the world to remember everything : )
You know what? That birthday tool doesn't have you listed for me either so I have no idea when your birthday is. I don't understand why some peoples show up and others don't. It's just finicky I guess *shrugs*
In regards to posting more...
I know you don't mind if I don't post all the time, but I feel really bad about not posting more often. My RL has been hell (as you well know) for several months and things have really backslid for me, which frustrates the hell out of me. Whoever said you could get anything done while working night shift obviously hasn't worked it and I've been really unplugged from most things since the shift. I just am trying to get back on track.
Hmm that original J/D idea has multiplied into several other stories. I am writing like a fiend presently, which is great for me! : D
I'll be sure to send you a few snippets of stories if you're interested *bats eyelashes and grins impishly*
Happy Easter! : )

Date: 2005-03-28 07:01 pm (UTC)The last months haven't been sweet on you, I know, I think you're holding up better than anyone else would, so don't feel bad about letting some things backslide, I think you're entitled to it. You'll catch up with everything in time. And anyway, your friends certainly wouldn't hold it against you even if you didn't *g*

Wonderful words in the English language! I can't wait to read those snippets of yours, which brings me to: am I interested? Are you kidding? lol Hell yes, I am, and you'd better not forget about it *g*
Thanks, right back at you, though it's sorta over by now *g*

Date: 2005-03-27 12:49 am (UTC)then I'll ask another question (just because I can): what's your favorite TV show of all time? (note the singular - you can only pick one - and yes, I know I'm mean... *eg*)

Date: 2005-03-27 01:53 am (UTC)Jim Grimsley's "Comfort and Joy"

It just screamed LEXIE! :D
no subject
Date: 2005-03-27 01:56 am (UTC)I do have it already, along with some others from the same author --who incidentally is my favourite queer lit author-- and it's a favourite book of mine, one that I rec all the time *g* It's a wonderful story.

Date: 2005-03-27 10:41 am (UTC)Winter Birds now is wonderful too. It's sad in places because Danny's father isn't a good father and the family lives in fear or worry but since we know of the sequel, ie Comfort and Joy, it makes the whole story more hopeful, and when you read or go back to Comfort and Joy, it gives you great insight into Danny's character. Why he behaves that way etc...
And since we're on the subject, I'd rec Kirith Kirin too, by Jim Grimsley again - it's fantasy, wizards, mages, etc... Another great read *g* Well, I'm a huge fan of Jim Grimsley anyway lol

(1) The thing is I share every fandom except MX and popslash with you and even then you dabble with me sometimes. But man, I'd die if you wrote popslash, except you'd pick JC at the AM I think and that's just wrong!
(2)Numb3rs *g*
(3) So easy! The Sentinel!!! The start of everything.

Date: 2005-03-29 05:59 pm (UTC)2- This might be my best victory to date, seeing how many people I pimped that show to. Man, I feel like bragging again lol *brags*
