Man! We're not certain of a lot of things in life but I know something that never ever fails to happen, namely Listsib A requests Jim/Blair DD at the TS storyfinder ML, therefore Listsibs B & C & D & E etc.... will rec anti-DD, because people are so very tolerant of others' tastes *is so very sarcastic too* It just never fails, a fact of life, almost. A little as if someone requested some fluffy J/B and people sent a list of fluffy fics which would include a non-con J/B as well and then followed with every non-con they could think of. Only of course, if someone did that, there would be hell to play - as it should. And this isn't a criticism towards people who hate the genre, btw. I actually understand why someone would hate it, it's not a problem for me. I just dislike people who try to show you how wrong you are in liking something different *shrug*
And now we have people asking for DD when, in fact, they're looking for anti-DD - damn, confuseme us much? Some people say they don't like labels, but I, for one, love them because it makes things easier. In particular when we're talking about fics, in particular when we're talking about such a delicate genre.
On an unrelated note, OMG Apophis was in the second episode of tonight's Mysterious Ways! And he was all kind and generous and loving and eek all human without, you know, a snake in his head making his eyes glow and incidentally making him evil. Wow. Where have the false gods gone? Speaking of which - my beloved Miranda? Is Dr. Brightman. I was watching Lockdown last week and squeed when I realised who was there. I'll never get tired of this game. N.e.v.e.r!
On another unrelated and even more random-ey note, being distracted can actually have funny results: I was searching for a download of Call On Me by Eric Prydz and wrote Bring It On instead because as everyone knows, 'call on me' is actually spelled 'bring it on' *rolls eyes* Anyway, I was going to do a new search when my my, I was suddenly facing a list of downloads from the Bring It On soundtrack and eeek Hey Mickey was right there! That's when I suddenly realised that I would love to have that song on my playlist, so I downloaded it and I've been listening to it, like, for hours. So,
babycakesin when/if you see this? When Linus will have its cord back, if you want the song? Just let me know *g*
PS: Challenges #79 and #80 of Sentinel Thursday have been uploaded at the archive and Challenge #81 has been sent today so it should be up soon. Also, Terri and I are being so organised that we even included a little update announcement thingie on the homepage so that people know when something is new. Aren't we being all webmistress-ey and everything? *preens*

Date: 2005-03-13 11:51 am (UTC)Most people are squicked by this because they see DD as a form of domestic abuse when in fact most DD lovers see it as just something else. Not that we even believe such relationships can work in RL, it's just that in fanfic? It can be a theme one enjoys, like any other weird or odd theme there is out there *g* I see it as something else myself, something special just outside the realm of what we know of the characters or stuff like that *shrug*

Date: 2005-03-29 01:44 pm (UTC)Personally, I disagree. Most real life relationships are much more complicated than either/or, don't you think?

Date: 2005-03-13 12:09 am (UTC)Challenge #79? Naomi Strikes Again...I wrote a fic for that challenge too. I know I did. *pouts* Come to think of it, I think a few others of mine are missing from the archive. But it's really no big deal. Except since I mentioned it, maybe it is...*is non-committal* *shrugs*

Date: 2005-03-13 12:12 am (UTC)Oh man, sorry! I'll go back to the comm and see what I missed. Really sorry *facepalm* As for the others? You don't happen to remember the names and the challenges, do you? Seriously, I'm sorry and feel kinda bad now *sigh*

Date: 2005-03-13 09:15 am (UTC)Which in this case is probably not a good thing. What gets me is the original request wasn't for a DD at all but that's what she asked for. I mean, there's a huge difference between anti DD and DD.
As for the rest *preens too*
