You won't EVER believe what I did this afternoon! I went to the French premiere of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and I SAW DANIEL RADCLIFFE and CLEMENCE POESY and they SIGNED something for me and dude! Actors... in front of me. Signing stuff - eeek!
dont_callmebabe did a great recap of our day but I can't not include it in my own journal, of course. The pics are hers though - thanks for letting me snag them *g*
Here is how it started. A couple days ago,
dont_callmebabe mentioned in her journal that a) the French premiere of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was on Tuesday in Paris and b) Daniel Radcliffe and Clémence Poésy would be there. Or maybe at the time only DR's name was mentioned but ok whatever. Since she was going to be all alone I thought, what the hell, I'll go with her since hey, it'll be fun and it's not everyday you can see actors in the flesh, right? But I didn't think more of it, like for instance, I didn't even bring my HP book so that Daniel Radcliffe could sign it for me. I know, it's dumb, but I didn't care more than that.
At the time. Cause as time passes? Dude, the excitement just gets to you and without any conscious thoughts on your part, you're suddenly one with the crowd - minus the screaming, mind you - and suddenly DUDE! It's so fucking exciting you could burst from it and you find yourself hoping with all your heart that you'll get your autograph like the rest of them. Which I did, heee!
So anyway - let's do this properly.
I arrived at Bercy around 2.00 pm and I joined Babe who was already there. We started chatting up with people around us - as fans are wont to do - and we formed a little group of four at one point, which was pretty fun. We all got the autographs, btw, which was even better *g*
Most of the decor was already set, of course, but we got to see the last preparations and it was really interesting. So it looked like this:

This the alley where we all waited and where the cast - and the guests - arrived. Of course, they added a red carpet and put all those those "boxes" away so it looked even better afterwards.
Gorgeous decor, right?
That one here:

They added last - and they lit it, it was pretty fantastic :-)
We waited there for around six hours [well, it was even longer for Babe] - that's what I callinsanity dedication lol But it was really enjoyable as you just talk and talk and talk and have fun - at one point Babe engaged in a magical duel with some youth on the other side of the alley and dude, they made me laugh so hard! It was great lol Speaking of those guys, they were all dressed up at Gryffindor students - they looked quite dashing.
I also have to say that I thought I would froze to death. Like, right when Daniel Radcliffe would arrive, I just knew I wouldn't be able to do anything cause I would be dead. I couldn't make my fingers move at one point - that kind of cold. But strangely enough, when the two actors arrived? I wasn't cold anymore - quite the opposite lol Then again, with people screaming in your ears and pushing against you as if their lives depended on getting a pic of the cast, added to the growing excitement of seeing actors live, well yeah - kinda understandable, I guess *g*
But let's just say I was really impatient to see them both - if only to be able to leave the crowd and finally be safe. I mean, dying trampled underfoot by a hundred crazy fangirls wasn't my idea of fun, know what I mean? And true enough, we had some of the best places since, well, there was no one in front of us, we were the first row, so to speak.
So anyway, I was impatient to see them - I was also trying to track the cast arrival by the screams coming from the beginning of the alley and please, someone tells me how it's possible for a human being to reach that kind of high frequency? Those girls knew how to scream, alright. But at least we could follow the events... excited-but-mid-range-frequency equalled guests. When they started screaming in such a way that only dogs should have been able to hear them, when it reached such an intensity that I thought some of them would just, I don't know, pass out or lose their voices or maybe die, we knew they'd arrived.
And yes, Daniel Radcliffe and Clémence Poésy were there *bounces* So close... and at the same time so far since it felt as if DR wouldn't ever approach our side of the line.

They both gave us quite a scare, because we thought at one point they would just - I don't know, sign everything for everyone but us, like they would get tired of signing and would just walk in front of us without a backward glance. And seriously, DR even turned back at one point! I mean, one second he was right here the next he was back there and argh! Talk about being frustrated lol And let's not forget, on the verge of being crushed alive by people trying to see him, of course.
Boy, it's a miracle we all survived.
But survived we did and we were rewarded when Daniel Radcliffe came back to us and this time OMG he was signing our stuff!

And this time he was close: stretch your arm mid-way in front of you and wriggle your fingers, that's it, that's where Daniel Radcliffe was at that point. He was, literally, within reach. And btw, he's really the sweetest thing - though he was pretty stressed and in such a hurry, he still tried to say a little something to the people he was signing books/notebooks/whatever for.
Once I had Daniel Radcliffe's autograph, I tried to have Clémence Poésy's one and bam! Here she was, back with us again and signing our stuff - which is a miracle too as she was leaving, but she changed her mind and signed for our part of the line, too.

As soon as it was done, I left the crowd, Michael and the other Clémence in tow and we joined Babe who'd preceded us a couple of minutes ago. It was so great, the four of us left ith the autograph/s they wanted! Talk about a success story *beams*
That was so fucking awesome, wow *beams* Talk about an original and fun day! Too bad I can't scan my autographs atm, but I'll try asap. I want to brag some more lol Babe? I'm so fucking happy I decided to go with you *hugs self*
