Ellison-Sandburg sim!household.
Dec. 29th, 2005 12:46 pmSo. I finally installed Sims2 on Charlie as Clark refused to play. I should have done it months ago - literally - but there you go. Anyway, I installed the thing and started playing immediately. My first family? The Ellison-Sandburgs. See, I thought taking an already married couple could help me a bit. Also, I made them move in Zarbville [dunno the English equivalent, maybe Freaktown or something?] because that way, if Jim does weird things, he'll just fit right in! Their house definitely needs new stuff but now that I have the cheat code I wanted, I'll be able to give them everything they desire. And yes, I'm the kind of player who uses cheat codes, so what? *defiant look*
It started so well - sim!Jim was hitting on sim!Blair and sim!Blair was definitely enjoying it. To the point where they kept hugging til yes! They finally kissed! Too bad I didn't think of taking snapshots of them. Next time, I promise. Well, if there is a next time because as soon as Lou and Technicien 9 - or whatever Green Guy's name is - arrived, things started to get a little more difficult. Well, it's Jim and Blair, all right!
Anyway, I'm having fun lol
Remember the "Scarecrow" thing of yesterday? So after talking with a girl on my flist and watching the promo I can officially say that, yes, I did change my mind and I can't wait for "Scarecrow" - even if, of course, "Faith" is still #1 in my heart. I mean, #1 in the Not Aired Yet Episode list and all.
Changing the subject again - the 2005 Review meme.
1.What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?
Visited the UK!
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I never make new year's resolutions. I mean, I know I won't keep them so I just don't make them. And okay so not keeping new year's resolutions is sometimes the whole point of making them in the first place but still, let's say I'm just saving time.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yes.
5. What countries did you visit?
England! I've been to the UK, whee!
6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?
A regular job and money, yay!
7. What date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory?
15 october.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I'd say taking my Conservateur d'Etat concours [competitive exam?]
9. What was your biggest failure?
I have two actually, better not mention them here, it'll be better for my ego *cough*
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No. I mean, just your regular cold.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Charlie, ie my laptop :-)
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My parents - they certainly went through a lot of stressful things, both professional and personal and they never gave up, never got bitter and never forgot what's really important in their lives.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
That's too personal to belong here, sorry *g*
14. Where did most of your money go?
Overall? DVDs and books.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
My trip to London, without a doubt :-)
16. What song will always remind you of 2005?
*blink* Dude, I don't know.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? I'd say sadder though I'm not sad, if it makes sense.
ii. thinner or fatter? *pokes tummy* *shrugs* Actually I think I'm like last year - my jeans tell me I'm not either thinner nor fatter.
iii. richer or poorer? A tad poorer, maybe.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Read more books, ie actual books. Sometimes it feels like I'm not reading real books anymore. And okay it's not right, but before, BI - Before Internet - I read a lot more of them. Now I still read a lot, only it's a lot of fics too and it's just not the same thing.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Procrastinating, definitely.
20. How will you be spending New Year's?
If everything goes according to plan it'll be just my parents and I - no Clan reunion this year and The Esu will spent NY with Henry's mother - and we'll go to a Gospel show in the evening, come back before midnight and eat the delicious meal we'll cook together.
22. Did you fall in love in 2005?
No.
23. How many one night stands?
None.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
NUMB3RS! I mean, Numb3rs - and Supernatural. I'd say Lost too but technically it premiered in 2004, so...
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Can't say I do, no.
26. What was the best book you read?
Ouch, not an easy question. But I think I'll go with Kirith Kirin by Jim Grimsley. That story made me feel so much! It was incredible.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Dude, I hate those musical questions *sigh* I pass.
28. What did you want and get?
Lots of things, thanks for asking :-)
29. What did you want and not get?
For time to freeze and not keep going.
30. What was your favourite film of this year?
Narnia! Want to see it again. NOW!
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
On the actual day I don't remember cause I don't even remember what day 27 May was, but in the evening I can tell you I was at home with my parents and The Esu celebrating it. And I was 26.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Not to get too depressing and all, but we could all have done without my grandfather dying of cancer.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005?
I wouldn't. I wear regular clothes, is all.
34. What kept you sane?
My family and my Best Friends. And also myself, because I know how to preserve myself - me knowing myself pretty well and all :-)
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I usually fancy characters more than celebrities so I'm not sure I can't answer the question. I'll think about it though. Or not.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
I suppose I should say the whole same sex marriage thing, but in truth politicial issues usually don't stir me as I ignore them. Politics bore me. To death.
37. Who did you miss?
Babycakes. Physically that is, because we're still in contact pretty much every single day :-)
38. Who was the best new person you met?
There are several, as a matter of fact *g* I'd say the French Posse as a whole *hugs them*
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005:
Family comes first, always. Except I'm cheating because it was nothing new.
40. How would you sum up 2005?
Tiring.
It started so well - sim!Jim was hitting on sim!Blair and sim!Blair was definitely enjoying it. To the point where they kept hugging til yes! They finally kissed! Pollination Tech 9 >.> Why do I remember that but not stuff that's actually useful?
Yay TS2 :D. If you want links to websites for cool downloads and stuff, lemme know.

I'd love to have links to websites for coold downloads. Thanks in advance :-)

Date: 2005-12-29 05:02 pm (UTC)It made a very big difference on my computer :)
I'd love to have links to websites for coold downloads. Thanks in advance :-)
:D
+ Sims Showcase: lists updates from a ton of Sims sites every day or so. Must visit site. Your one-stop-shop for all things TS2.
+ Simsconnection: beautiful hair and so far the only site I've once bought a subscription to (I'd let you use it, but it expired last week. Meh). Hair, clothes, pretty, pretty stuff.
+ Simsquirts for beautiful baby/toddler things.
+ Parsimonious: also one of the greats. Lots and lots of stuff.
+ ModTheSims2: for mods and hacks. I cannot live without the self-emptying toddler potty and various other mods that make in-game life easier (TS2 still suffers from a number of minor annoyances that were annoying in the original as well).
+ Along the same lines, MoreAwesomeThanYou, another mod/hacks site with some good downloads as well.
+ Simply Elau: beautiful hair and clothes.
+ Unpretty
And in general, just check out the links/affiliates on the above-mentioned sites :). There are so many great artists out there I can't possibly list them all.
Aaaand a note on downloads: there are two expansion packs, University and Nightlife. Some downloads won't work unless you have one or both of them installed. Most sites are pretty good about indicating which objects requires what, if any, EP. But if an object you downloaded doesn't show up in the game, there's your problem.
:) Have fun! Downloading is soooo adddictive >.>

Lol, I hear that.
Read more books, ie actual books. Sometimes it feels like I'm not reading real books anymore. And okay it's not right, but before, PI - pre Internet - I read a lot more of them. Now I still read a lot, only it's a lot of fics too and it's just not the same thing.
It's weird how that happens isn't it? I mean I feel like I read all the time and then I think about it and I realize I haven't read a book in ages. But hey, fics count too, right? *g*

Date: 2005-12-29 04:24 pm (UTC)I've been going back to books more and more since last summer because really I thought it was getting ridiculous - I mean, yes, there was a point when I couldn't really remember what the last book I'd read was. I didn't like it lol
Though hey, fics do count - besides, it's not even in our own language, so it should count twice lol Though I think the last four books I read this holidy were all in English so er, yeah lol

Date: 2005-12-29 10:50 pm (UTC)Ah, so it's just like real life then (well, TV life anyways). *g*
Though I think the last four books I read this holidy were all in English so er, yeah lol
Heh, 90% of the books I own and/or read are in English. I just prefer reading original versions, so many things get lost in translation.

I've observed exactlty the same thing. I've always been a compulsive reader and BI I used to read a lot of books and almost every kind of books. Now I read less books and more fanfiction.
I just don't have the time to read as many books as I used to and reading fanfics is a lot easier in a way.
The good thing about reading less books is that I remember them a lot better! *g*
38.
