PS: It's always a little odd listening to Jonas, the man is dubbed by the same actor who dubs Blair in TS *g* If I close my eyes, I can imagine Blair being a part of SG1 lol Lovely *g*

ETA: Were the translators on crack or something? They messed up one of my favourite scenes- you know :

Well no, I was exaggerating *g* It's not that weird actually. We're just used to dubbing and it's more fun than weird when you recognize voices. It's one of my talent, as a matter of fact *preens*

I'm impatient about next week's episodes. Orpheus and Lifeboat will be on- Orpheus has some nice Teal'c and Daniel scenes if I remember correctly, and Lifeboat is just great!

It always amuses me when Americans suddenly realize we have the dubbed versions of their shows lol And it's not that sucky, really- it's fun on the contrary. And we're used to it, anyway.

We get to have nice voices, don't worry *g* I have favourite voices --exactly like favourite actors lol-- for instance Emmanuel Curtil who dubs a lot of characters (including Fraser from DS), I also love the actor who usually dubs Peter Wingfield, William Coryn who dubs Michael Shanks is also a voice we get to hear on a regular basis, like Isabelle Chanson who's Amanda Tapping's voice... Sometimes, the dubbed version are even a tad better than the original ones, in the sense that they try to put a voice that sounds like the *character*... it can be really fun that way lol Of course, usually, I'm really impatient to hear the real voices... and I'm not often disappointed *g*

Right, well, I never said that we were a particularly bright country. *cough* *points to president* I guess I just figured, well actually, I just never thought about it. Plus, I swear I read somewhere that they occasionally make actors re-dub things in other languages. Perhaps that was bullshit.

That sounds interesting. I almost want to hear them now. You know, Michael Shanks' voice irritated me when I first heard it, but it's grown on me. I still think Garett has the best voice of all the various actors in fandoms.

You know, I might still work on it, as I am right now attempting to plot out a Stargate story, not the Mini-Jack one, but the other one, the one I mentioned to Scroll about Daniel/Jack being trapped elsewhere [v. orginal, I know] But I wanted it to be on a Celtic planet, I think, so I've been studying Wicca and such. We'll see if I can do it.
When are we getting our assignments from that Stargate fic thing?

Yes, right, how does a person go about imitating someone who imitating someone else? Not to mention can a French voice over actor do a British accent? Hmm.

Of course they never imitate that kind of accents, doing an English accent would sound stupid in that particular case *nods* It's all in the intonation and the speech pattern, the actor is going to play on the different intonations ; haughty, childish, lost... exactly like MS did, only he won't use an *accent* per se.

Those who dubs shows are pretty amazing as far as using different tones of voices and different speech patterns according to the characters they're dubbing is concerned. They can pull out completely different characters and you would never guess what their real voices are sometimes : grown up, teenages, kids, crazy, stupid, smart, serious, deep... it's really a difficult job and they do it wonderfully *g*

Hope your muses will do their job *g* And if you're talking about the Jack/Daniel fic-a-thon, I have no idea. I didn't join *g*
