So! I finally went to my festival *beams* It was a blast - I wasn't disappointed in the slightest.

Before going to the festival, we went to la Grande Brocante and as a result, I got myself 4 DVDs for 25€ only - including The Lion King - one of my favourite Disney of all time - and Interstella5555"! Man, I was so happy when I saw this one. I might have squeed a little - not too loud though, because we wanted to negotiate the price and I didn't want to sound too eager - well it's part of the game, ya know? lol And talk about a nice bargain. Four DVDs for 25€... The Lion King alone costs around 30€ here. I was a happy camper, let me tell you *g*

There was music all around, and tables with people eating just all over the place - and I'm not even talking about the stands of course, they were everywhere, which is sorta the point of this Grande Brocante, after all *g* The whole atmosphere was really laid-back, it was really relaxing. Besides, some guys were playing accordéons (accordions), and you can't have a more French atmosphere than that, really! lol

Then off to the festival we went. The atmosphere was even more relaxed, I adored it. Plus, the organization was really great. A part of the festival was for shows - during all afternoon different folkloric associations followed one another and we watched two demonstrations, one of Wushu and another of a Vietnamese dance. Really impressive, and really beautiful.

The association we belong to - an Italian one, Calabria Mia - was represented as well and we actually had a huge place for ourselves *g* The stall/stand for the Italian assoc' was right in front of the stage, actually. Really nice move, guys! lol

We stopped for a moment and sat at the tables - we took a great sun bath and ate all kind of Italian food, it was perfect *g* I couldn't help thinking of my grand-father, I have to admit. Nonno would have loved it! Besides, there was a demonstration of la Tarantella, and I'm pretty sure it would have reminded him lots of souvenirs *g*

After eating, we went to visit the whole site. There were people all over the place, some on towels catching a tan, some others in comfortable lounges, lots of others just chilling and walking like us - since we were on the bank of the Seine, it really felt like we were on vacation already *g* Water and sun. Nice combination - even if you'd better not take a swim. Well, not if you value your life lol You could find lots of activities, with some favourites like the Storyteller place for instance, where a man was telling tales to a pretty captivated audience (and there were not just kids either, that was sweet), or the barges taking you on a little tour on the Seine. One of those barges had a band... it was really great, I loved it *g*

The whole day was great ;-) Also, when I came back, my sister told me that the worrying problem with my grand-father seems to be on the mend - so hurray for good news! It's not over yet, and we don't know when he'll leave the hospital, but at least, it's improving a bit.

And finally - for the last hour, I perused the net for some research for my AU series and boy the things you learn! Researching for 'male prostitution' definitely is something, let me tell you! lol

No wait, a last thing. Just wanted to welcome my newest lj buddies. I got some new ones in the past few days, and I wanted to welcome in particular [livejournal.com profile] french_hobbit. Not because I'm playing favourites, promise, but because I actually found - or she found me, as you wish - someone who's not only a slasher, which isn't so surprising considering my flist, but French as well! It sometimes feels as if there's no French slasher around. So each time I find one, I'm all happy *g*

lol - Hey! I resent that! You're not going to take away my slasher badge because I haven't made a slash-oriented entry in a while, are you? Cause they already took away my hetter one, and I'd really like it if I wasn't in the grey area at least here *g*

I'm glad your grandfather's improving :)

The festival sounds wonderful too, relaxing days are wonderful. Especially when it's sunny and good food is involved.

It's funny. Corey and I were watching Lion King last night, I agree that it's a great movie.

It was really great, indeed. Since we don't have the sea around here, it almost felt as if were *were* at the beach *g*

The Lion King is one of my two favourite Disney. Well, I like them all a lot --or most of them anyway-- but this one is definitely at the top *g*
