Good afternoon. What I'm going to do here today... mathematically fangirly is construct a love assessment for each of you, basically qualifying --if I can-- the different wonders of that series *turns to white board*

First I have to say that I apparently got so used to Charlie's presence by Don's side that I took it for granted, and I won't ever do it, promise. That being said, Numb3rs might be the only series where I can say stuff like "See, even though I thought the ep sorta lacked Charlie presence a bit and Don-Charlie interaction a lot, I still thought it was awesome and I loved it" - well that is, I think I say the same with Lost, to be fair *frowns*

Okay so anyway, in any other show I would have whined and moaned and maybe cursed the mean writers who had dared separate the boys for most of the episode, but I didn't here because I just focused on everything else that was happening and I didn't mind that much because OMG Larry-Charlie! Alan! Alan-Charlie-Larry! Oh the love! Incidentally, I really appreciate how they're not turning Charlie into The Ever So Uber-Smart Character That Is Never Wrong And Always Saves The Day because I wouldn't like it - and for instance, I really enjoyed how it was Alan who found the right location in the end... first because of the whole Marty Stu factor that we're avoiding quite well and second because it also brought me a lovely worried!Charlie mixed with insecure!Charlie scene, which is always a good thing in my book.

It also gave me another great moment with daddy!Eppes whom I love to pieces. Even better yet, I don't just love that character because he's the man who gave me Don and Charlie - well you know what I mean - but because he's one hell of a wonderful character, as a man and a father - he seems so wise and so strong and he's so sweet and tender with his boys and just... I don't know, I fucking love him *hugs daddy!Eppes* So I don't love him because of the Brothers but because of him. And with scenes like that very last one, when they're leaving the restaurant, well how could I not anyway? I just about melted when both Alan and Don were congratulating Charlie... he looked so proud and happy *pets him* Those two, they sure know how to take care of a Charles Eppes. And when he got all indignant.. he's so bloody cute, man!

Also hey, it seems to be something they do on a regular basis, go out together, cause it's not the first time we see them going to a restaurant... that's so sweet *happy sigh*

So. Daddy!Eppes. Is so very cool. As is Larry. And the Larry-Charlie scenes are so cute that my cute-o-meter is always on the verge of breaking. No really! Did you see that first scene with them? The geeking, then the teasing and the giggling and the touching? Kittens have powerful melting-inducing powers, but Larry and Charlie... could definitely compete *nods wisely* Also loved the scene between Charlie, Larry and Alan when Larry blurts out the secret and the camera is on Alan's face but we can still hear the other two in the background whisper-arguing.. the whole scene just cracked me up because damn, talk about keeping a secret lol Charlie's face! *cracks up* I know it's all Larry's fault though - hey, Charlie does know how to keep secret after all.

Speaking of the Mighty Trio actively working on the case and the pressure of said case or any other... we truly have good angst material here, namely the pressure put on Charlie's shoulders. Like, he's expected to find a solution through his 'crazy theories' and if/when he fails... well, imagine the consequences on Charlie's psyche. Damn... that's good *glassy eyes* Wait, where was I? Oh yeah good angst. Don was really on edge, poor guy, he's certainly under pressure too, I'm not denying that but you know, it could still work really well, ie he would feel guilty about what he's putting Charlie through - not just physically here, like for "Sniper Zero" but mentally too. So if TPTB want to play with that theme more in the future, I'll be there!

And another scene I loved... the whole Charlie Teaches The Bad Guys and Tricks Them Into Betraying Each Other. First I adored Don's introduction of his brother, that was really cute, second the whole 'Good afternoon', so formal and so teacher-like indeed, in that situation just cracked me up and third because I loved how Charlie reacted to the agressivity of the Bad Guy Leader, how he stepped back. That was perfect.

Btw, wasn't that Crumb from Early Edition at one point? I think it was. And Tommy Juno from TS too!

Oh and GIP. Did I mention Numb3rs was taking over my life? Cause it's also slowly taking over my icon slots, it seems. But huh, did you see my icon? Yeah. And something funny? Now that my very first Don/Charlie has been written, my muses are apparently intent on playing more because I had another idea and this one? Could be totally gen. Me! Writing gen. Should I proceed... it'll make me laugh for a long time, I'm just sayin'.

Changing the subject now... so the third round of [livejournal.com profile] sentinelsecrets is in the making and there was talk of using a different rating than the one we're currently using [you know after TPTB pulled a tantrum sometime ago] and huh... you mean to tell me it's serious?

1. Fiction Rated: K - Intended for general audience 5 years and older. Content should be free of any coarse language, violence, and adult themes.
6. (Supplemental) Fiction Rated: B - Intended for preschool level and younger children between the ages of 1 and 4. Content should be free of any coarse language, violence, adult themes, and ideas very young children cannot comprehend.

This is a rating I could be required to use at SenSecrets? *blink* If that's the new rule, I'll follow it, but I'll be laughing because well, as official as it might be, it just sounds out-there for fanfics. But okay, a rule is a rule...

PS: Tomorrow if the First Day of Spring Break, YAY!

The rating system is, if I understand it correctly, something that can be applied to any fiction, to include published kids' books, so the rating makes sense in that context. What might not make sense is applying this rating system to fanfic, but I've got a headache so I won't debate that...

The whole thing seems to make fandom so much more complicated, and for what? It's ridiculous. Well no, it's just that I think it's ridiculous and I have no intention of playing the game as long as I'm not forced to do it - so far, it didn't even register on my radar, ya know? I think I have seen like two writers using that rating - two out of... well, many, and I hope it won't spread anyway, because seriously *rolls eyes*

Anyway, we'll see how it goes at the comm at least.

I really enjoyed how it was Alan who found the right location in the end...

*bounces* So did I! I loved how daddy!Eppes got involved in the case and had useful information to bring to it ^_^! Plus as you say Larry and Charlie are just too cute together, they speak a different language and when Charlie was teasing Larry at the beginning... it was just so funny!!

Another great episode! Can't wait for the next one ^_^!

P.S. I was gonna snag that icon too because it is gorgeous and the text is spot on! We have very similar icon taste ^_~!

I really cheered when daddy!Eppes go involved. I quite liked that Charlie asked him in the first place. And Larry and Charlie... *happy sigh* So.Cute!

Next ep should be great!

That new batch of icons was awesome, wasn't it? And the text is spot on, I couldn't resist. We do have great taste, don't we? lol

you mean, it's not a joke?? o.O

Numb3rs will be airing in Australia soon, but i have a hunch it'll be next season, so probably when i'll be gone. bouh. has it been picked up by any French channel? no, don't answer that actually. i don't want to know. i'd rather grab the eps off you and see them unspoiled! *g*

I was knackered last night and actually went to sleep before midnight, which just never happens - that's why I woke up so early, I think. I used to sleep a lot and it changed - six or seven hours is good enough now, v like 10 before? lol Good thing too since I usually go to bed between 2.00 and 3.00.

god, it's the opposite with me! i used to be able to go on with 4 or 5 hours of sleep for WEEKS on end, with one or two all-nighters thrown in there for good measure ... and that went on for 3 years! but this year ... can't anymore. and i'm worried it'll never come back!

I'm so glad I have two or three European night owls on my flist (a potentially endangered species, however, if a certain someone doesn't stop picking on Old People). Gives me something besides RL work to do in my 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. time slot.

The nerve of 'certain someone'! Not that I know who you're talking about, of course, but European night owls really should be protected. For your sake, I mean. Like you said, what would you do at work between 3.00 and 6.00 pm, right?

It boggles the mind, doesn't it? It's apparently a very serious and official rating used for published fictions and stuff. I actually thought it was a stupid rating made up by fans! *shakes head*

As a matter of fact, I did a mad search to see if a channel had picked it up and nothing came up. Which okay isn't a problem since, hi, I sorta have everything on discs but whatever. And we'll do a Numb3rs marathon when you'll come, though in the meantime, yeah, do you want me to burn eps for you and send them your way?

Daddy!Eppes! Isn't he amazing? I love him almost as much as I love Don and Charlie. In fact, I love everybody on that show. And last week, how'd you like that scene between Larry and DaddyE at the diner? I could seem something... *snicker* (After overcoming my incest squick, I am now feeling ready to slash my way across all the characters on the slash. Apparently. *bg*)

I'm getting ready to watch Numb3rs in just a little way. (Unless I get distracted. :)

And that rating system? Ugh. Ugh. And more Ugh. It's a bit whacked, and I'll probably still send mine in with the whole NC17 thing and let Paula change it. But I think I'm just being stubborn. Anyways, in a few years when everyone is using this new-odd-system we all can tell stories about the great Ratings Wank of '05. So, that'll be fun. *g*

He is amazing *nodnod* Each time he's in a scene, I'm bouncing because you're right, he's right next to Don and Charlie on my Favourite Characters List.

Ah "Sniper Zero"... that episode was the Episode Where Everyone Could Be Slashed With Everyone. That was the slashiest episode to date, I'm still going all glassy-eyed just thinking about it *glassy eyes* See? lol

LOL Yeah, we'll be like 'In the golden days, we used another rating. Don't groan, it's true! We were there when it changed. Oh the wank'. But well, for now, it's really a minority. I actually didn't think people were really using it on their fanfics *cough*

That would be cool, all right lol No seriously this new rating? It's beyond me. Also, I apparently saw another one and I'm like... what the hell does that mean? We'll need a dictionary to fucking know what is ahead of us now because those ratings, they don't mean anything. This sucks *pout*

I am so all over it. Poor Charlie. He feels everything so deeply. Most prominent in the second ep Uncertainty Principle when he blames himself for the bank robbery gone wrong and all those consequences. The angst meter is feeding overtime.

Did you catch that bad guy number 3 was Tommy Juno from TS?

Yes yes yes! OMG yay! Allow me to spazz out in your journal for a moment, so I might look normal in mine ;-)

Each episode I wonder if I could love both brothers more, each time they prove I can :D

You really said all about what made me fall off my chair in flailing squee, so I am, once again, left to bouncily agree with you :) (Really, I was bouncing! Luckily the chair is solid...)

The angsty!Charlie scene was my favourite, sharing place though with the teaching!Charlie and the last scene :> I noticed how daddy!Eppes tried to explain to Charlie his insuccess by a lack of variables; he knows his Charlie (not that anything could comfort him for his "failure", but it was a good try...)

Btw, wasn't that Crumb from Early Edition at one point? I think it was

Yes, it was him! I was all "It's Crumb! What's he doing here as a simple citizen and not a detective?" and didn't think any of the other Numb3rs fans on my flist would know what I'm talking about :D

And wow, now I understand the beginning of your post, which I had read before seeing the episode ;-)

Each time a new episode airs, I'm like okay, it can't get better because I'm already head over hells in love with the whole cast and bam! Each time I realise it can get even better *is in love*

Yes YES! I fucking loved that moment 'Come on, Charlie, I'm the one who didn't give you all the variables' that was so sweet of him...

and didn't think any of the other Numb3rs fans on my flist would know what I'm talking about :D

See? You can count on me lol
