Feb. 13th, 2006 05:16 pmThe Johari Window sure is going around, isn't it? But did you see? For the bravest among you, there's the Nohari Window which is supposedly the challenging inversion of the Johari one - but between you and me, do I want to know whether people think I'm weak, dispassionate, humourless, dull, stupid or Insert New Not-so-positive!adjective Here? I don't think so. I'm aware of some of my flaws and I'm not exactly eager to hear about new ones right this minute *is a wuss*
Unrelated now. So I've watched a couple of Numb3rs episodes yesterday in-between bout of sleeping the sleep of the sick and I've gone back to the sources, namely 1x01 and 1x02. And those two episodes... there's no words to express how much I love them. I mean, a pilot is always special, you know? That is, if you're the kind of freak that sorta worships tv series, because when you are that kind of freak? Pilots hold a power of their own, they're the point of origin of your obsessions; it counts for something *is totally a freak*
Me, I love them - though let's be honest, sometimes they're a bit weak; but Numb3rs, ohhh Numb3rs was so great! There's only one thing that always makes me roll my eyes, it's the first time we see Charlie. It looks so silly now, but I can totally forget about it because it really doesn't matter as everything else is just perfect; and I love how that pilot seems to sum up just about everything so nicely. From the relationship between the brothers to their relationship with their fathers, from the differences between Don's and Charlie's worlds to the necessity to have those two worlds collide, and it also establishes quite nicely the dynamics between co-workers, colleagues and friends. Though speaking of which, poor David! Seeing him now, I'd almost forgotten how awkward his debut was. And of course there's Terry *hugs her*
Oh and a dialogue I love:
Alan: Maybe the math isn't the problem.
Charlie: What do you mean?
A: Well, you just said that there was something you couldn't get your head around and I know for a fact it can't be the math.
C: What else is there?
Seriously, isn't that dialogue LOVE? I love Alan's confidence in Charlie's abilities. And I'm quite partial to Charlie's confusion because, dude, if it's not the math what could it be? *loves* Then there's this dialogue between Larry and Charlie which amuses me now; it's the one where Larry warns Charlie about the danger of allowing himself to be distracted by too many things, when he's trying to tell him to choose carefully what he decides to work on because he's almost thirty and it would be such a tragedy if he lost his focus somehow. It made me smile because it reminded me of the conversation in "The Running Man" where Larry tells Charlie that he hasn't seen his best years yet and that he's only thirty after all, he still have time to do more great things. Nice contrast *g*
Also, back to the Larry-Charlie talk in the pilot. How to describe Charlie's look when Larry is 'lecturing' him... I want to say 'so cute it hurts' though maybe mischievous would work better? Though even if I had to use mischievous, I'd still add 'so cute it hurts' afterwards because DUDE! Did you see his face in that scene? *melts*
As for "Uncertainty Principle"? Well, I still love that episode beyond the telling of it. It's still #1 and I seriously don't see how it could lose its place, though of course you never know. But even if Numb3rs outdid itself and gave me an episode that would outmatch 1x02, it would still be in the Top Five because just - I mean, that episode is SoGreatItHurts *hugs episode 1x02*

Date: 2006-02-14 01:27 pm (UTC)As for your e-mail, delgaserasca is now listed under Outstanding Artist. Someone nom'd one of her Wallpapers, otherwise she still wouldn't have been eligible without a graphic nom to back up her 'outstanding' status. *g* But, um, she's there now.
And yes, May is the date being bandied about for the release of Numb3rs on DVD. I posted it in my LJ the other day, with links to the TVshowsonDVD articles if you want to get it straight from the horses mouth. *g*
