Day off uni, crack!movie, LoM Ficathon

Last night I've seen one of the weirdest film ever! Think of your favourite crack!movie and multiply the crackiness by, say, a hundred? And you'll have an inkling of the spirit of the film. There was a giant moussaka - I swear I'm not making this up - wandering around Greek city streets, spreading panic and death. Journalists were covering the event and trying to find an explanation as to where the giant moussaka came from and what it wanted and at one point there was this woman on the telly doing a birth chart... for the moussaka! Or there was this other character trying to do a psych profile of it. Psych profile. For the giant moussaka! *dies* You had scientists in pink uniforms trying to defeat it, journalists being completely overwhelmed by the whole thing, a guy talking about how the attack of the giant moussaka would change fashion as now some colours would be associate with it like brown and orange, a tranvestite searching for his lover - who happened to be one of the scientist apparently - and this very camp guy who kept mocking it and, dude, it was brilliant! I'm hoping they'll do a repeat cause I missed the beginning and the ending and I need to see the film in its entirety now... I want to know what the spaceship filled with scantily clad women was about!
Okay I shut up about the Attack of the Giant Moussaka now *cough* Onto something more serious then. Remember my little obsession with Life on Mars? No, it's still not fading, thanks for asking.
versaphile thinks - and boy do I ever agree with her - that we need more LoM fic, so she decided that what the fandom needed was a little push, maybe. Therefore the idea for a LoM Ficathon was born. She's doing a little poll over at her lj to try and determine how many people would be interested in participating or just reading, so if you think you could be? Go and fill aforementioned poll, please? And feel free to pimp, too. The more the merrier :-)
[ETA: It's done! Signups for the Life on Mars Ficathon 2006 are now open!]
I wish I could participate myself but a) I think everyone knows by now that I suck at challenge and b) I'm not sure I could write in the fandom yet. Also c) I'm afraid my writing spree is done. I don't know, I fill a bit empty as far as plot bunnies are concerned. Which is so very typical as I seriously need them right now because of a certain TS ficathon I signed up for - yes, I suck at challenge, I don't know why I did it, okay! - and also because of a certain car porn challenge that I'd love to play with too. So since I need inspiration, I don't have it anymore. QED. Damn muse!
