Charming neighbourhood; I needed to give something to Sandra so I made a little detour to her place - which if you like that kind of details is a fifteen minute walk from mine - and there was this motor scooter burning in a corner of the street. Some gits had apparently decided it would be cool to destroy someone else's property. Lovely!
Unrelated now - I was cruising some news site just two seconds ago - you know how you can buy everything on-line? Well dude, if it hadn't been halted, you could have bought a soul! A young man actually put his for sale - it was halted but he still had more than fifty bidders. He said he 'didn't need it' and that he 'wanted to give it to someone who did'. Also, if the sale had worked, he would have 'mailed pictures and souvenirs of his life and share his important memories with the buyer.' Dude, isn't it an incredibly story? Let's imagine everyone involved was honest, ie it wasn't a scam or anything? The guy decided he didn't need his soul and tried to sell it on-line and people bid on it! Nowadays, demons don't need to go outside and trick people into giving away their souls, they just have to sit comfortably in their comfy armchair, log on and go on eBay! Okay, Taobao, whatever!
Which in a roundabout way reminds me that I meant to mention a new SPN comm that went live,
spncross. It's a SPN crossover challenge and they're accepting prompts atm. It's working like for
highwaymiles, ie you can offer a prompt even if you don't plan on participating and once all the prompts have been gathered, potential writers will pick one and run with it. So if you've been dreaming of a particular crossover, now is the opportunity to talk about it, maybe someone will write it for you!
And because this post doesn't have enough different topics; someone shared some juicy spoilers concerning one of my beloved shows and the whole spoiler thing... I don't understand how it works. Like, why will I want to spoil myself silly for one show and want to avoid them at all cost for another? And okay, when it's shows like, say Lost, I do understand why I'd want to stay spoiler-free but still, as a rule, well there isn't any and it always confuses me.
Aww wow, it takes me back to a time, back in the day, when I was a huge Lost addict - and also a time when my flist had the Lost Crazies every Thursday and dude, things sure have changed. Tv life is funny that way.

Heh, I was all excited when Lost came on the telly here and I watched it religiously for a while, but then there was this pause and I got out of the habit so when it started airing again I just...didn't pick it up again. *shrug*
But yeah, TV life is funny that way. *g*

Date: 2006-04-06 12:27 pm (UTC)So yes, someone tried to sell their soul! I mean, wow. At first I thought it was a joke but no, it really happened. And I have no idea how it supposedly costed.
This story kinda blew me away. I don't know - there's something fantastic and creepy in that the whole thing, I positively love it! The world is an amusing place sometimes *nods*
I'm still trying to understand what happened with Lost. I mean, I'm someone who very rarely loses interest in something, much less lose interest in a show I adored... but it did happen with it. From Big Fangirling to No Feeling Whatsoever. Weird.
I guess I'll try the second season when they'll air it in France, but that's it.

Date: 2006-04-06 12:51 pm (UTC)As for the spoilers... yeah. It's a bit like snooping for christmas presents. I'm usually a total sucker for spoilers, but sometimes afterwards I wished I didn't find out. In this particular case, it's probably for the better. I'm not sure I'm going to survive without sufficient preparation. ;-)

Date: 2006-04-06 04:53 pm (UTC)The soul thing is a bit disturbing though, I mean it isn't a tangible thing so how can you sell it? Also how do you know you won't need it... bit risky if you ask me, lol!
Tv life is funny that way.
Sure is. Like you, there are some shows that I want to know anything and everything about NOW, please ^_~! But others that I don't want to be spoiled for at all, thank you very much. I also can't put a hard and fast rule on it, sorry!

Date: 2006-04-06 07:22 pm (UTC)It was disturbing. So surreal and just - selling your soul? Dude! Also, someone argued that the guy couldn't sell his soul in the first place since it didn't belong to him. Which is another great moment in that whole affair.
I also can't put a hard and fast rule on it, sorry!
Well, it's okay, I think we're all in the dark :-)
